eBay Fraud Alert

hahaha, that pic again?

I'm tempted to make it my avatar!
I sent them an email via ebay (hiding my email address of course) asking them to take a picture of the cue with a current newspaper.

I asked him if my cousin (who lives nearby;) ) could inspect it for me before I bid on it.

Good old eBay. They let this auction run to the end even after it was proven and reported as fraudulent 3 days ago. Now somebody ("Bidder2") can get screwed out of a couple grand. Meanwhile eBay posts this horsecrap on the ended auction:

" As the internet evolves, eBay continues to strike a balance between preserving transparency and protecting our Community of members. eBay has decided to change how bid history information is displayed so bad guys cannot target bidders with fake offers using this information. In certain cases, some bidders will no longer be able to view Bidder User IDs on the Bid History page. Your User ID will be shown only to you and the seller of the item you're bidding on. Other members will see an anonymous name, such as Bidder 1, applied consistently to the Bid History page. "

Looks to me like they are more inclined to protect the fraudsters!

Hi,

I can hardly understand why people don't take care as much as it would be expectable.. If I have 2 grands for a cue I'd definitely make sure that I'll buy it from a reliable source and I won't get screwed up.

BTW, that idea of a pic with the current newspaper is great - and that nearby-living cousin too.

There's something I'm not sure about totally: is that pic going round and round the internet allowing fraudulents to make false auctions? A few days ago I've seen another topic here warning as that there is a fake cue - I can't remember who made (or should have made) that one but that was around 3k either.

What's the best: someone has won the auction... I feel sorry for that poor guy though..

EBAY PRTOECTS THEIR INTERESTS ONLY! they protect the sellers not the buyers. THE BUYERS AREN'T PAYING THEIR bills ! ISN'T THAT THE POLITICAL WAY! The GEORGE BUSH system, taking care of the big money, the hell with the little, working people that actually do pay for all of it.

It'll all come back to bite 'em in the ass when someone opens a new site and controls the behavior.
