Ebony and Maple, No Veneers

Great looking cues, and nice photos. I really love that series of Mali Cues. Green label Malis like yours are known as the M-series and they were produced, from 1984-1985 and they are beautiful playing cues. I have bought and sold many of them overs, like you I love them, the craftsmanship in these cues was fantastic at the time, and they were made in the United States at the Mali Factory. The Mali factory in the United States was open from 1961 until 2001, all cues after 2001 are Chinese imports, and they are unfortunately poor quality, unlike your cues.

Here is the my favorite M Model, it is a M-15 the most expensive cue the came out of the M-series like your cues

Here are some very nice ones of the same series with inlay on EBay.

2. This cue was the first cue in the series. https://www.ebay.com/itm/3762714907...d=link&campid=5335988529&toolid=20001&mkevt=1
I just realized I have at least 3 versions of the M-15.

I'll get pictures soon-ish.

I'm pretty sure I have 3 M-15 cues. I have a couple T (Trophy series) but I don't think I have a T-15. They had colored veneers and the thicker dashed joint rings.

Still reassembling my files.
That’s, cool when you have as many cues as we do, it’s easy to make mistakes.

Got another one!

I think it is a version of the McDermott E-F5, with the wrap that goes all the way to the points (the wrap usually stops short) and black joint collar and butt cap instead of gray (usually gray, sometimes black). In fact the butt cap and butt sleeve look like one black piece on this one.

So here is a thought: I think this would look better with a black wrap. What do you think?

For comparison, I did the black wrap on this McDermott EK-1.

Taking the E-F5 to the pool hall now. This is the first time trying it. Will report back.

...and will have another cue as well as a couple cases to post.

Happy to report the E-F5 is a great player! Oh, and I have two shafts for it.

I dig having two shafts for any cue I own and try to make that happen if I get a cue with only one shaft. Tracking down originals can be challenging but a second shaft for this one practically fell in my map. Sure, you can get one made, but it won't be the old wood.

I meant to take this cue, in fact the entire ebony into maple collection, on my trip to see @Sev this past weekend, but getting out the door with my family can be challenging. I forgot all my cues, so I played with some spectacular loaners. The man has fine taste in cues.

I have been looking to add to this collection, and posted in the wanted section. Sadly, due to recent unexpected expenses I have to delay the next purchase. I might ad a full custom, or something like an Espiritu or Schön. I have seen some spectacular options. I am really digging this part of my collection. We shall see where it ends up.
