Ebony -R- for sell or trade

Hello everyone,

Here's the deal... I really like this cue and I've only had it for a few months. I was planning on getting it touched up and keeping it, but my APA team actually won a trip to Vegas in August and I need some other things besides a 2nd -R- laying around not getting played.

I would like to trade this cue for one (or a combination) of the following:

(1) A nice case plus some dollars for my upcoming trip. I like Ron Thomas cases, JBs, It's George, Murnak, etc... It can be hard or soft. Needs to be 2X4 or 3x5 (or similar). The right 2x3 could also work. I would like a case from a custom case maker and I would like it to be leather, preferably brown.

(2) A shaft for an Andy Gilbert jump/break cue plus some dollars... Must be in great condition.

(3) I would also look at instructional materials plus some dollars...

Here are some pics (it's the Ebony veneered cue):

The butt of this cue has a slight roll at the joint. It's not even close to a credit card in thinkness. I couldn't get my camera focused enough to show it on a flat surface.

The butt does have a chip in the finish which is shown in the pictures. The finish also has a few very small bubbles in it around the butt sleeve. They are noticable when viewed up close.

The forearm does have a few dents in it from play. Again, my camera has a hard time picking these up, but you can feel them and see them upon close inspection.

The two shafts have ivory ferrules and the tips are fresh Triangles (see new pics in post below). One shaft has a slight wobble. It's very slight and the cue rolls nicely, IMO, with either shaft. I can tell you that many on here would market this cue as straight. I'm just trying to be upfront about it. The shafts are nice and dense and the cue honestly has a great hit with great feel and feedback.

Specs:
Butt: 15.4oz
Shaft #1: 3.9oz..12.56mm
Shaft #2: 4.0oz..12.68mm

Price: I will sell outright for $650/shipped to the lower 48. I will place a higher trade value on it dependent on the trade.

If you have any questions or want clarification on anything please let me know. Please PM me any offers.

Thanks-

J.

Bump for a tough crowd...

Dropping the shafts off for new tips tonight. Maybe that will change the interest level. Maybe I'll be keeping it after all...

Bump for any trade offers for a nice leather case... I'd even look at cue and case combo trade offers...

How about the specs and what's your asking price?
are you willing to take in another R cue in trade?

Here are the specs (I had them listed, but they may have been lost in the description):

Specs:
Butt: 15.4oz
Shaft #1: 3.9oz..12.56mm
Shaft #2: 4.0oz..12.68mm

The ferrules are Ivory. The tips are brand new Triangles. It's a 58" cue. Did you want anything else specific?

Yes, I would trade for another -R-. I love his cues. My current player --the six pointer in the pics-- is the best hitting cue I have ever owned or shot with, period. This one shoots just as good (IMHO). It actually gives the cue ball more action and moves it around easier, but that is bad for me at my current skill level. I get into more trouble with it, lol.

If I traded for another cue I would much rather the deal come with, at least, some cash my way. My whole point in this is raising funds to get a nice new case.

I listed I would sell the cue outright for $650. That was fairly firm before, but it is very firm now that I have spent the green to give her new tips. I would give her a trade value slightly higher, depending on the trade.

Let me know if you need any other info.

Thanks for your interest-

J.

Bump it up...

I've had a couple of folks ask about trading for another cue. I am open to that = but the deal needs to include cash coming to me. A nice fancy sneaky or something a little more simple would be just fine.

I can't believe no one wants to offer a deal involving a case on this cue...

@bogey54311: I can't wait to see some pics :)

@JIMMY L: You know you want it man! It looked very good in your hands! We need to meet up and play soon...

Hello,

I have a very rare 2x4 Chaz Dillon elephant skin case that he was selling for $950, but needed money so I got it for $650. It's not brown but it is awesome looking and lighter than you would think. It has the latch on the side :) and uses JB Cases' soft interior. The only issue with it is it has no pockets so I asked Chaz to make me a couple of leather pouches so I can keep my bridge head & tip tools/chalk with me. I would trade straight across if you're interested.

I have many more pictures if you're interested. All the grey is elephant hide, all the black under the lacing is also elephant. Whether the black elephant is dyed or actual black elephant hide I have no idea. The trim, shoulder strap, handle & hanging pockets are all leather.

Other case manufactures would charge $1600-$3500 for elephant hide cases, this may be the best deal on AZB. I would sell it for $650 if anyone else in interested, I must start cleaning out my closet. Only used for storage.

I was just wondering if the wrap is lizard or leather embossed with a lizard pattern. Thanks

I don't know. Is there a way to tell? I will say the leather on the Ebony cue is very soft, almost 'grippy', if you know what I mean. The wrap on my brown -R- (it's Bloodwood) is much firmer and when I play a lot or sweat I have to dry it with a towel or else it messes with my grip. I do not have to do that with the ebony cue, but I do not know the type of leather it is.

@12squared: Wow, that is a nice case, but a little too much case for me. I'd like something that isn't worth more than my cue! ;) Seriously, thatnks for the interest.

Bumpin' it up.

I'll have limited internet access for the next couple of days (cause I'm visiting my 'back home' which is in the sticks of eastern KY) so if anyone sends me any messages I may not get them until Friday.
