Ok, I hate to do this but I gotta let it go. 2007 Paul Mottey.
Ebony forearm
6 snakewood points with holly veneers
piloted steel joint
black lizard wrap
snakewood butt end with 15 ivory diamonds
fancy Mottey ivory diamond rings at A, B, C, D and, E.
2 straight shafts with ivory ferrules and Moori medium tips.
weight at time of purchase 19.5 ounces.
length 59in

I ordered this cue directly from Paul in November of 2005 and took possession in January of 2007. She has been played with quite a bit but both shafts are extremely clean. The lizard grip isn't as shiny as when you get it new but there are no tears or anything like that. Just that shiny finish is worn off a bit.

There is one small dinger in the finish right at the top of one of the points. I tried to show it in one of the photos. And I apologize for the photos. I don't have a super camera. Oh, the photos were taken about an hour ago so there is no change in the condition that you see here. She's packed away safe.

$3500 or willing to trade for a SouthWest. I know the SW is cheaper than this cue but I really want a SW. If I get cash I'll use that to purchase a SW so either way, I'm happy. I have 3 photos of SW cues on here in the order of my preference. I will entertain other SW cues, if there are any offers, but it must have all the ring work at A, B, C, D, and E. I'm pretty open on the overall condition of the cue if it's not really beat up.

Don't worry, John, the Mottey I bought from you didn't put me in any kind of financial pinch. I want to get that SouthWest for my wife. Our wedding anniversary is coming up and I'd like to give her something special. Yeah, I know, sappy, but she's my girl.

Seriously though, since I got the JMW a few months back I haven't touched this cue. I hate to see a cue sit like that and with the Mottey coming from you this week...........I don't see me taking this one out of the case. This one is too fancy for me. The entire look of this cue doesn't suit me.....even though it was my order. hehe!!

I gotcha. I wasn't too worried, but I'm glad there is a happy story behind it instead of the other way around! I hope you find the Southwest you are looking for!

Well, it is a nice looking cue. I can't say it's not. Just doesn't look right with me holding it. I'm more of the classic maple forearm, ebony points, colored veneers type guy.

You're describing my playing cue. It's a 4 point Mottey with Birdseye forearm .. Black, Red, Black , White Veneers .. SS joint and delrin butt plate, with a white with black speck linen wrap and maple stiching at the joint. I love the old style vintage looking cues myself.. But your Mottey looks GREAT also!.....
