Yeah, if Chuck reads this it would be interesting hearing his reaction; curious if he thinks the travels of his "double refund cue" have produced any tangible results for him.
I've had about 6 of Chucks (Starkey) cues and know of 5 happy customers and myself who chased one down and bought it back. I don't recall anyone saying ...
nahhhhhhhh .... doesn't work for me.

Whatever he says I'm cosigning ....... welll ... damn near  he is all that .....

and his cues play sweet.

Gotta nominate this thread as one of the strangest ever on AZ.

Gotta argee, and I started it.Not my intent at all.

Ed gave it a pass which kinda suprised me honestly. The thread...well...sucks for Ed.

I've just read this whole thread, start to finish. All I can say, is that if a judge had told me to pay $X.xx by a certain date, and that if not paid, I'd go to jail and be separated from my wife or kids....

Well, for damn sure, I'd be flipping burgers, manning the cash register at a 7-11 on the graveyard, delivering newspapers by bike, or licking birdshit off car windshields at stoplights for $1.00 / pop to get that debt paid. There are (were) lots of things you * could have done * to pay off your court debt; and it sounds like you've pissed off a judge.

IMHO this sounds like someone like someone who procrastinated himself into a corner.

Personally, I might have dropped a few bills on a cue - but I don't see you getting a cue to me by Fri AM. Besides, I'm busy trying to keep myself from having to lick any windshields in financial desperation.

Thanks, very nice of you to mention.

I should also say in reference to my last post, I'm a professional procrastinator - currently working on home improvement projects scheduled for 2003.

I know the feeling, its like in Taxi Driver where Deniro says "One of these days I got to get myself organizized." .I always wait to the last minute and procrastinate too much,I think Eddie is like that too and its not a good quality at all.

Good Luck Eddie...

i am so sorry to say my heart wanted to loan you the money, but my reading your posts - my head said - no.

sorry eddie, and it was not the money that changed my mind, but it was much more than that. i would have lent you the money without interest, without a two times payback. without collateral. only to help someone for my own self appeasement, from my heart.

i guess my few posts are not known as the threads were deleted (as should have been). my point is arnot is a foolish man imho, and you are the same imho.

you know you had an obligation that was paramount. you ignored it and rested on your belief that you were above that obligation. you bought a machine you used for 6 hours for a large sum of money, compared to your obligation for a small obligation of money for your freedom.

all i can say is i had greater hope for you, and you disappointed me. but you in the end are hurting yourself most. so sad.

and i hope that charlie gets his cue as promised!

i wish you the best.

Smokey,
Not that it's any defense, but EW did said this:

"I need a huge favor this is so huge that it decides whether I live or die"literally" !

I recently filed a motion to petiton the courts to give me an extension or other options on my cost of supervision for my probation that I'm on for driving on a suspended license.... becasue I terminate probation next month..

The reason for this motion was becasue the refininace I was doing on our adjustable rate mortgage fell through and I was relying on it to pay off probation dept. the sum of 2491.58...

Which of course the new judge I went before had zero interest in assisting me in modifying my costs nor would he extend my probation or allow me to trade it off for community service hours...

As a matter of fact he chastized me for waiting to the last month to address this issue and when I tried to explain the refinance aspect of it he didn't want to hear it and gave me till next fri the 22nd to come up with the entire amount of money or I will violate my probation and when I come back in front of him he assured me that I will do 5 YEARS IN PRISON for not having the money and paying off the probation costs due to my existing point score !"

Apparently, he put all his eggs in the refinancing basket, along with many other current homeless Americans.

The one thing that this thread is really missing is Fatboy writing, " I have a new girlfriend and she is a FIB agent."

(sorry that smokey decided not to help Eddie, but respecting his decision, because I respect smokey)

Eddie, why didn't you just sell your CNC machine on craigslist and spare everyone the unnecessary drama?

You've already rejected some incredibly generous offers from AZ members, so there is no point for anyone else to step forward.

Good luck, Eddie.

My feelings on all this....

I'm going to chime in and give you all my .02. Since my first visit to Eddie's shop I have had a couple of other visits to have him do some work on my cues from changing the weight bolt to turning down shafts.

Eddie is also building a cue for me with a bubinga forearm, ebony butt and 8 slot maple rings on all positions which should be ready in a couple of more weeks but if it takes a little longer so be it, delays seem to happen a lot in this business.

I have also seen Charlie Edwards cue, Eddie is spraying it again due to a flaw in the finish but both shafts are already done, they have ivory ferrules and the matching ringwork.
Eddie also mentioned to me that he would compensate Charlie for the delay but this cue is almost done and ready to ship.

When I first saw Arnot's post on Eddie's record yes I was concerned but after talking with Eddie and seeing him at work I know he realizes he screwed up and is trying hard to right the wrong. I also think Arnot was way out of line for posting his record here. He hasn't ripped off anyone on this forum so it's irrelevant.

We are only human and as such we make mistakes as we go but the thing is we need to remember what these mistakes have taught us. Has Eddie Wheat learned from his mistakes? I think so.
I also think he's very sincere about his intentions to do the right things and if I had the means I would have loaned him the money that he needs to stay out of jail.
My feelings are we all deserve a second and in some cases a third chance.

I realize that I'll probably get flamed for posting this here and at the "other forum" but honestly I don't really care, so go ahead and flame on if he makes you happy.

Eddie is doing the best he can to keep his feet on the ground and to be a better person, and at the end of the day when the smoke clears he will be just that..... I truly believe it.

Sincerely,

Tony Valles

I'm confused????????

In a recent post, Eddie said it was ready to ship. Then, in a subsequent post, he said he had to quit typing so he could go "buff it out". Now, you say, he's spraying it again???????

I'm beginning to wonder if this cue actually exists.

Very nice and fair post Tony.

I admire your willingness to put it out there with your name signed to it.

This was Sunday evening. Are you calling me a liar?

Dale.
I have no intention of raffling or selling any of my cues but I will buy a ticket from you. How's that? Put me down for # 6.

Thank you.

Deleted......This is the most rediculous thread I've ever read...have fun boys, and girls....

This has nothing to do with your credibility it may just be a simple "shading of the truth" on Eddie Wheat's part, so try not to overreact nobody is attacking you.
