Ed Young Question

Ok, Ed contacted me with explanations etc.
He also promised me a cue in 4-6 weeks, so let's see what will happen.
I will post pictures as soon as i have it in my hands...

HOB- unfortunately i was not afforded the same respect that you have received. I tried contacting EY and he has not responded. Im not wasting anymore time trying to contact him. If he builds your cue and asks for payment tell him to subtract my $200 down payment from your total cost.

Wawa you are a good man unfortunately EY is not.
 
OK I have heard enough stories regarding the unpleasant transaction experience with Ed including a friend of mine who put like 3K deposit some 10 years ago and never had it back, while I have recently acquired an Ed Young cue and I might consider refinishing it and to get new shafts, this is sort of ironic but do I need an escorw on this :confused:, can somebody show me a way out?

It's a real shame your friend lost that much money. He should contact law enforcement. After all, stealing is a crime. I doubt the statue of limitations would apply here since Young probably made more recent promises to deliver his cue. The courts consider those things as him being put off until the statue ended. Ed Young should have to answer for this and his other scams. Sad, sad, sad.

Maybe everyone can pool their deposits and when the cues come have a raffle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
Well it looked promising for me...
Ordered the cue in 2006 and made a $400 deposit.
Had a small email contact in 2008, and then no reply untill november 2010!

- November 2010, he made excuses for the delay and another whole story about his life but told me my cue should be ready in 4-6 weeks.

- March 2011, Ed told me he did inlays by hand and was not happy with part od the butt, so he had to do it again, your cue should be ready by the end of the month.

- April 2011, Ed told me he added ivory rings and that the cue was going into the spraybooth next week, i will be in touch next week after we start spraying were his last words.

After that i have send him several emails but no contact anymore!!!!

This is also makes for a great argument of why buying through a dealer is so much of a safe guard..

Although it's nice to design your own cue and save a few bucks going directly to the cuemaker,,I always wondered if the delivery time,,and anticipation of what the cuemaker's perception of the final product will be will match yours....

As for me,,when I see something I like , be it a cue or case I don't hessitae to pull the trigger,,,,

Yes, I know there have been some incidents with dealers as well but for the most part,,,they are a fine and honest group to deal with...

Or,,,to allow both the buyer and seller to slep well at night, use an Escrow service like Marcus,,,,doesn't get much better than him and his correspondence is second to none.....!!
