Any of you using the Edge Hybrid shaft from Jacoby? If so please share your info and opinion.

I am using one really impressed with the feel
Tip is harder then I expected to be on a ld shaft.
I like o.b.s cant stand any predator shafts. Fwiw.

I have one and really like it. I've got the shaft on an Arnot sneaky with a soft Kamui brown. I really like the setup.

Yes, I looked into all laminated LD's and spoke to a top cuemaker as well as cheapcues (who are always easy to talk to... I bouhgtmine there as they had a good return policy if I did not decide to keep it.

The edge hits phenomenal, and my game increased about 20-30% from making shots that I may have otherwise missed or somehow squirted. The edge virtually eliminated squirting.

My cuemaker (who is 1 or 25 certified cuemakers) had tried an edge several weeks earlier and he was astounded by its performance, and he has hit everything out there.

I put a medium or soft ultra-skin on it, as the tip that came with it grabbed the cue ball too much, and I spoke to my cuemaker and took his recommendation. (I had an ultra skin on my previous playing cue.

The Edge is the recommended hybrid LD, as Predator and OB have had some reported quality problems with their laminates, splintering or glue issues. I was advised the American made Edge also has the longest taper of the LD's.

It was the BEST single thing I have done to improve my game. I sold the new shaft that came with my Schon SP after testing my new Edge Shaft.

In addition, once you have it you can use it or get another one for future cues and not need any adjustment period.

In my opinion the shaft "seems" to get dings easier, and you shouldn't try to use an iron and wet paper towel on a laminated shaft like I used to do on my basic maple ones... but I have had no problem using micro-git or sandpaper on the cue at all, and there have been no other issues. The ferrule stays clean easily as well.

Nothing is better than this shaft period.

Has a very pure hit with tremendous feedback or feel. The taper is fantastic
and doesn't take anytime at all to feel totally comfortable with this shaft.

Add my voice to the Jacoby Edge chorus! I'm in the process of shopping for a cue, and was agonizing about what shaft to put with the Schon. After spending a couple hours today with a friend's cue, the choice is clear. The Edge has a VERY solid hit, amazingly low deflection, and great spin and control.

2 weeks with the Edge shaft... love it. Used old maple shaft for years with an 11mm tip, got away from the game for a while and picked up a McDermott with a 13mm G-core as I figured things had changed.
Last 2 weeks I've put the Jacoby on the old Dufferin butt and could not be happier (for now :-)

Re: jacoby Edge LD shaft

I've had mine two years. I only get to play from Nov. through February as I give golf lessons the rest of the year. Even with very limited play, I love the shaft. I do NOT have to compensate when using English. A SMOOTH stroke works best for me. I also kept the Tiger Everest tip that came with the shaft. I got mine at DCC two years ago through Joe Villapando.

I recently picked up two Hybrid Edge shafts, one with the Schon joint and a Radial. I absolutely love the shaft on my Schon. It is truly like a magic wand. The radial one doesn't seem as magical to me. Maybe the problem is the butts I've paired it with. I have a Diveney SP with an ivory joint and a cheap Singapore import.
