6-3 Efren, Efren at the table. The break is tough with the 9 ball on the spot!

1 In the side on the break for Efren with the table open.

8-3 Efren racking for next game.

Jose played a poor safety and lefted Efren a shot that he missed. Jose banked the three cross side and missed the 4 ball Efren running out.

9-3 Efren and he really looks solid.

Jose just doesn't look like himself making safety errors against a rejuvenated Efren who's taking advantage of these mistakes.

10-3 Efren.......

Efren broke dry and Jose has a wide open table which he made a position error on the first shot!

11-3 Efren!!!!

The rivalry is settled for now........

I dogged the prediction on this one. I said Jose by 11-9. Well played, Efren.

Bummer, thought this was tonight. Stuck @work.

I missed that prediction, but it's good to see Efren get win against Parica.

Efren has always been one of my favorite players to watch play. With all the younger generation players in the game now who play lights out it was great to see him play at such a high level. He capitalized on Jose's mistakes and that's what it takes to win big matches. He looked relaxed and it showed in his performance. I hope he's still alive on Saturday with a chance to win it all!

Congrats Efren.
Iirc this is the second time Efren has beat Jose at the US Open.
The last time was in the semis of the 1997 US Open.

Efren's still got his mojo

Congratulations, pare! It really feels good when you are shooting loose and you get a glimpse of your younger years in Lucky 13. Remember, age are just a set of numbers and do not define your skills. I got something on the side that you might grab this one for posterity.
And yep, I think Joey is right that this is the second time Efren has beat Jose (Amang) in the Open.

I wish Efren shot like he did in the early-mid 90's when he went to the US Open finals 4 years in a row.
He was a see it shoot it beast then.
