Yes its true, after just being ousted by supposedly 2 unheralded
players from the Philippine 9-Ball international Open, the guy has
finally concede after many times putting it off, that he nees an
eye surgery, he probably would wear glasses but that have to
be decided by the doctor himself and Efren.

Check this out.

What about his left, right and inside english, doesn't it speak too much to
you? ;)

Well anyway, what could you expect from a high school dropout and besides
he doesnt like playing with his false teeth on him...it bothers him :D

I think there is also improvement as far as speaking on tv and interviews
is concern, whereas before he needs interpreter to answer for him, but
now with the best he could, he try to answer it by himself, i think you see
it on previous WPCs...Of course the english that he spoke is not the average
joe that america has or for the educated ones for that matter. But at
least we could glean something from it and just read between the lines.

But anyway doesnt his game speaks too much...???

Peace.

I agree with you! Who cares if Efren speaks good english, or no english. His game, and more importantly, his manner, speak volumes about him. He is known and idolized by millions of poolplayers, around the planet, and is perhaps the most humble of all...aside from the admonition of the professional pool world, that he is probably the most highly skilled, all-around player, at almost any game. I'm happy that he is seeking professional advice and laser eye surgery, to correct his vision. Hopefully it will work well, like it has for many posters here, and Efren will continue to play even better AFTER 50!

Thanks for sharing your friendship with Efren. It's nice to hear some things that we ordinarily wouldn't know about Bata...like his love of kareoke! LOL

Scott you yourself should take pride in knowing that you are well respected by many pool players also. Everyone who has taken lessons from you speaks very highly. I consider people like you, Efren, and many other players and teachers to be gems of this sport.

scary

Does any of you find it scary what Reyes has accomplished the past year or two with failing eyesight! Even more scary is what he can accomplish with a perfect set of eyes (hopefully after this surgery). Scary.

You are much welcome Sir.
And by the way i saw your website..you are indeed an asset for the
Pool world..i think Pool need not be almost always link to gambling..
although many think like that but the past decade or so the
pool afficionados manage too pull out at least some semblance
of positive things for pool..by providing tournaments after
tournaments...like in the case here before in the Phils..in order
for you to expose yourself into a competitive environment you must
need to go to a gambling route...i think that image is change quiet
considerably....im not saying of course that gambling is totally eradicated...but in a sense it has put decency in pool..with numerous pool tournaments...around here you can now gain a competitive
exposure..to say the least without the need to go the gambling route.
