For those of you that have played for an excessive amount of years, has your attitude or appreciation of the game changed? If so, how & why?

All games have changed-more aggressive-less safety play.
Play level has increased across the country.
Jump cue has decreased many players kicking skill set.On the
flip side those that can kick,do it well thanks to dvd and
youtube!
Not every poolhall is smoke filled!

Not sure i am understanding the question, but my answer will be this. I used to be a runner I did not run against other runners. I was in competition With the clock. In the beginning of my pool career I feel like I was in competition with other players That was the only way to gauge my growth. For the last 5 or 6 years I have devoted myself To becoming a pool player. I have noticed the last couple years That I do not need the opponent. I am in competition With my visual game. What I mean is this. I visualize my shot and I plan out my route, I then physically execute the shots. If I'm off I'm sick to my stomach You fight a sin to the shot properly I overwhelmed with confidence. I am in constant competition within my own self. I have discovered my limits . I feel like I am running against the clock. My opponent Has lost value in my mind. That's the directions to my pool game is changed over the years.

I changed the first thread hope its clearer, as always, got ahead of myself.
