Egregious, Blatant Disrespect

They could be. Let's ask him.
Hey Brian, did you ever get the urge to follow someone around after they've been to a corn roast? :)

I knew when posting this thread there would be plenty of opportunities at humor. You guys didn't disappoint!

On a more serious note; does anyone know when cornholing is it possible to get a spot? :rotflmao:

best,

When you're in a cornfield all alone....
...did you ever get the feeling you were being stalked? :shocked2:

While watching television last night I saw a promo that, I believe today, there will be the airing on one of the ESPN channels, "The World Championship Of Cornholing".

I'm gonna be honest, I'm more of a city guy than a country gent so when I heard there was a cornholing competition going to take place, I quickly double checked to make sure what channel I was on.:shocked2::grin-square:

I swear, I have never in my life heard of such a sport but they were showing what appeared to be a very large painted plywood box with a small hole cut into the top and then, what, do they throw ears of corn into this hole?:confused:

I checked but saw no listings for pool on espn, just cornholing.

Has pool taken a back seat to cornholing?

It's hard to type this thread with a straight face.

Have any of you tried cornholing? :grin-square:

maybe it's fun. :happydance:

This is just killing me...

best,
brian kc

4 th of July they had a turny right down the street , and there were 3 games right behind my house and several more in the field next to the water where the fireworks were going off
I would venture to say the game is the biggest recreational game in the country by a wide margin

It's pretty damn popular in the south and goes well with college football. I have a set of boards and play during pregame and half time. More of s modern day horseshoes.

Times have changed. Or, have they stayed about the same, for pool...

In the 60s, when I started playing pool, we didn't do corn holing, but we did do tin foil baseball. You wadded up a bunch of tin foil, threw in at the batter, and the batter hit in at the you and the house across the street. If it got by you, it was a single. If it hit the garage door on the fly, in was a double. If it hit the roof or went over the house, it was a home run.

Pool and tin foil baseball were fun in the 60s. I think tin foil baseball has somewhat gone out of style. Apparently, corn holing still has a cult following. I guess pool has about the same following, or less, and I see what you mean, given ESPN showings.
,
Is it any wonder why most kids, and 20 and 30 somethings would rather play minecraft and text on their Iphones, Ipads, Ipods, etc, than play pool, or god forbid, some corn holing or tin foil baseball?

Perhaps some can relate to this. But you'd better be over 50.

I had never heard of it till I moved to the south. Now we have a set under our covered porch. We usually play when friends come over while drinking beer and barbecuing.

It hasn't made it to Texas yet , if it has it would be through Midwest transplants , we play a game called washers , get a empty vegetable can , dig a hole put the can in it with the top at ground level like a cup on a golf green and get washers smaller than the can and play similar to horse shoes.

There was a product advertized in the 60's called Corn Huskers lotion but nobody called it that when referencing the commercial.

Corn Huskers lotion is what a Cornholer uses after a long day of Cornholing.
