Eight Ball On Break

PT, those are the BCA 8 ball rules. If you scratch on the 8 and it remains on the table, it is bih, if you make the eight and scratch, it is loss of game.

I actually had a guy want to play me like that....I said to him...
"So, the best breaker is the most likely to lose on the break...
...let's just play 6-ball ....same rules as 9-ball."

You should be able to make 7 balls on the break, one of them the eight ball, you win, or if you're playing spot the eight after the break, you keep playing.

Under CSI rules, which the BCA Pool Leagues use, the game cannot be won or lost on the break. The breaker would have the option to spot the 8 ball and shoot from position, or rerack and break again. If the 8 ball is made and the cue ball scratches, the incoming player has the option to spot the 8 ball and take ball in hand anywhere on the table or rerack the balls and break.
In the OP scenario, the game would be stopped, reracked and break over with the original breaker breaking.

Good old bar rules....
If a man told me I have to make the 8-ball ALONE on the break to win....
...I'd put my cue back in the case.

As I said, I don't remember anymore, as it happens so rarely. 8 ball + scratch is loss 100%. 8 ball + another ball, I think it depends on the local version, some say it's a win, others it's a loss. 8 surely can't be spotted on a coin op table.
