My take on the solution:

Use the umbrella:

Long, short, hit behind the yellow, optionally hit the ticky with another short, long, then carambole

Question for Jaspers: How does he like the shot-clock format (akin that he used to be a methodical player)?

Jaspers and the small games

I would be interested in asking Mr, Jaspers about his experiences in the small games when he was younger. I purchased a DVD from the Netherlands of a free game match between Mr. Jaspers and Henri Tilleman. What does he think of Raymund Swertz?

Steve, the shot diagram you presented was a really good one because it allowed Jaspers to explain his technique.

And here is what he said: an accurate 60 to 70 percent hit is essential, with somewhat of a long stroke, cue a bit under center i think, and dont stroke it too hard.

He also said that players should know how cueball react on the first rail... Im gonna work hard on this one!!!

Great Advice... Nice Interview.

Yes. I listen intently to these pros. Especially someone as articulate and talented as Dick Jaspers. I will practice this shot as well.

Just between you and I... he is one of my favorites.

I have been looking for the right sponsor(s) that can help bring caroms to the prominence it deserves. Having an AGIPI style venue here in the states that will attract our friends from Europe and Asia to come over here regularly raises all boats.

We are fortunate to have some individuals that have been very financially supportive of the USBA and caroms in general. It may take a consortium of donors to bring this to fruition. Having a corporate sponsor would be a huge step forward.

Remember what Dick Jaspers said in the interview. Kozoom is the future. Why any carom player would not have a subcription to Kozoom is beyond me. It is the best bang for your buck!

I agree with you Steve, having world top players to compete in the U.S. will help to promote our sport and yield more interest in fans.

I think this would make an interesting shot situation to ask top player in the next interviews:
-Shot diagram is very similar to the one above but
-Move both the Yellow and Red balls toward the left horizontally
-One of the solution would be: Red, Long, Short, Long and maybe Short again, and Yellow.

This solution is very tough to make for anyone at any level. It would be interesting to here tops players analyze their techniques.

Sorry I don't know how to pose the diagram.
