Electrostatic Cloths for removing chalk from bed of table.

$90 for an X-1 versus $12 for a horsehair brush, or $5 for a micro fiber handmitt. To add to the mix, I wouldn't be surprised if Kamui has a table cleaner in the works.

I have a Simonis X-1 which I bought right after having my table recovered. Does a great job. I read in a thread, about a month or so ago, that using a micro-fiber cloth also does a good job. I picked up 4 micro-fiber cloths at the 99cent store and tried one. It does an excellent job. I've been using it alone for about a month now and it shows the dirt and chalk (it's very light yellow). I keep the cloth in my back pocket while playing, and use it when appropriate to either wipe the table quickly before racking, or wiping the balls before racking. Just takes about 15 seconds. The table was receovered around Christmas time and looks brand new.

And the wiping you refer to is without dampening, yes?

...I hope so, as otherwise you are puttin a wet rag in your pocket! (Istupid)

Yes the cloth is bone dry. As others have stated, wetting the table cloth may cause stretching. Don't know if that's true, but why take the chance when a dry micro-fiber cloth does such a good jub.

Joey, I vacuum the table before using a damp cloth - completely wrung out it won't make a mess and it does pick up the little bit of remaining chalk. The cloth doesn't even really get wet at all. The I brush it.

BTW, I had read about the electro-static tactic so out of curiosity I tried a swiffer cloth but it was an epic failure. It was very hard to work with and left more lint than it picked up chalk. No biggie because I didn't do the whole table. I could tell immediately it wasn't going to work so I just vacuumed up the small area I had tried.

Thanks for letting us know what doesn't work. No swiffer for JoeyA.
