Elephant ear wrap?

I just installed an elephant ear wrap on my cue,

I really like the texture, I found it a little harder to seam perfectly as it felt a little more elastic than my normal stock of cow leather

Then texture is very unique and cool looking

I just can't get past the idea of using elephant for a wrap. Maybe it's a western bias, as I am comfortable with leather. I stopped using ivory for the same reason. I love the hit of ivory but I didn't feel right using it. I have since sold my cues with ivory (except one but I don't use those shafts).

I found something even worse ...

If you get the "Current" TV Channel, check out "Tiger Farms" ... It
will make you puke. When I watched it, I wanted to board a plane for China immediately so I could kill every animal butchering asshole in sight. It is disgusting to think they allow such horror in these modern times.

Sorry for being somewhat off-topic, but this Horrendous practice
MUST be stopped ... NOW !!!

Maybe I should have mentioned this in the beginning, but starting this thread I was mainly interested in the material properties, i.e. the reason people want this in the first place (it appears somewhat popular these days). Apart from the fact that personally, I'm a WWF member (= always assuming the leather would have to stem from proper sources), there are import laws that would make it virtually impossible for a Swiss to buy either elephant leather or ivory even if one wanted to. It's admittedly a somewhat theoretical question to me because I have never seen, let alone touched/tried such a wrap, and probably won't unless I travel e.g. the U.S. or Asia to participate in tournaments.

Greetings from Switzerland, David.
