I am getting a custom cue made and was just wondering if anyone has had any bad experiences with embossed leather wraps. Are the uncomfortable in any way?

Thanks in advance

I have a lot of cues with embossed leather. Can't say that there is any negatives.

The positives are that they hide the seam easier, and don't show scratches or marks as much as smooth leather. They also add "style" to the cue.

What about when you play with them do they feel strange or off-putting in any way?

i think they're a hair better than lizard skin. they have the look but still feel soft. hard to beat that. they stick to your hand if your hand sweats

I actually prefer embossed over the real in most cases, not all. They last longer, easier to take care of, and some, depending on where they came from, feel better.
I know Wayne, not only does he build great cues but he also only uses top quality wraps on his cues. He would not offer it if it wasn't the best!
Hope my rambling helps you!

Thanks Everyone

I am going to go with a black embossed lizard wrap. they look better and there seem to be more positives than negatives if there are any.

Some of the top quality embossed wraps nowadays are so good, that it's pretty difficult to distinguish them from the real thing.
