Entertainment gone over board at world summit?

Well, obviously Busty and Alex are good friends and can pull this kind of burlesque show off, but what happens when Alex does it again, just trying to entertain the crowd, to say Earl or someone else that may not find it amusing?? Then it can cast a shadow on the sport (which it doesnt need anymore of). People should see the lighter side to pool, but there can be a thin line between professionalism and unprofessionalism. JMO.

Earl told Alex to shut up one time when Earl was playing and Alex was just part of the audience, cracking some jokes around. the commentators didn't give much attention to it and so was the crowd. since they know Earl is just being Earl. after that match, all was back to normal. no love lost to say it all.

is after Alex missed the match ball, How in the world did Django miss it?

Busti was left with a bank shot that was NOT easy but it was NOT that difficult either. He slammed it and missed it.

I enjoy watching the skillful manipulation of the balls. That's all I need and really all I want.

WOW....take it easy guys.....*****, *****, *****....whats the matter with you guys???!!!

Does it really matter? Alex probably was joking around too much, but jeeez...HE STILL ENDED UP WINNING!!! Isn't that what matters? The fact that the guy actually plays good enough to win? It was good for TV yet you guys bash it.....then wonder why there is no money in the sport? Hey I'm a player too and to each his own, but I would rather die than watch two boring stiffs play a tournament on TV.....Even in the World Championships the players show emotions. The fact that Busta and Alex are friends made the banter between them even more relaxed........gosh.......

The point is - he won....even if he was being too much of a joker.

AND, not one player is trying to be a "role model" for Austin Murphy(no offense to him)......you guys are unreal man. Thay all are just trying to make a living playing a sport that doesn't have much organization or direction.....

Relax Phoebe. Pro Pool could use ten more just like Alex. I hope he never loses his playful spirit and enthusiastic personality. Not to mention his great game.

Tell him to be cool with the Poker. It's a rough racket.

Earl got angry with Alex. does this mean Earl's crazy? :D :D :D
anyway, after that Earl outburst, all was well again. nothing personal but it's just their own character playing.

Is there a link to this match anywhere? I like watching Alex because of his antics so I'd kind of like to see if he got too carried away IMO..

At times? You mean there are times that Alex is not hard headed? Not the Alex I know, anyway please say Hi to him. I call him Batman with Yangyang as his Robin.

That's the match between Earl and Efren, at the Master's tournament, IIRC. I have the tape lying around somewhere. Alex was being loud and joking around, but not when Earl or Efren were shooting. When Efren would make a good shot, you could hear Alex saying "WOW" or something like that, really loud and in a joking tone.

After Efren played a great safe on Earl, Alex did what I described as Earl was surveying the table. Earl turned around and started glaring at Alex, and then you hear Alex scream real loud like he's scared but in a mock tone. Earl says to the ref "Someone should tell Pagulayan to shut his mouth. He's acting like that, and he's a professional!" Me personally, I found it funny, and so did Efren. Earl seemed real pissed however.

That was just one of several incidents between Alex and Earl the Girl. I remember years ago at the US Open, it was before Alex won it. Alex and Earl were in the quarterfinals and the match went all the way down to the wire with Earl winning the match. During the course of the match there was a running mouth battle with Earl losing that mouth battle.

Anyway, as they were leaving the venue, it so happened that they were walking together on the way out. They were still mouthing off to each other as they were exiting and Alex being Alex had the last word and the most profound phrase. Check this out guys, in a very loud voice bordering on a shout, Alex said "Yeah, you could probably beat me now but you can not beat my dad gambling!!!"

Well, Earl did not like being challenged like that in public and stupidly retorted that he can and will gamble with Alex's dad anytime, anywhere.
By this time a crowd had gathered around them just outside of the venue listening to this verbal exchange between these two players

Earl said to Alex to call his dad right now and he will spank him on the table. Alex said, 'I don.t have to call him. He is here watching us right now and listening to everything you are saying.'

"Where is he?" yelled Earl. Alex turned around and pointed to Efren sitting on the bench and grinning from ear to ear. Efren started waving his arm and gave Earl one of his toothless grin and said, "Anytime you want to do it, Earl".

Earl's face turned beet red and he just turned around without a word. The crowd burst out laughing especially when Alex yelled, "I thought so, you (*&^%expletive)!!"

Earl thought that he can bully Alex with his mouthy attitude. As it turned out, Alex could have spotted him the 6 and out on woofing and trash talking and he would not have a chance.

For those who are really close to Alex, they must have witnessed Alex's impersonation act of various pool players. IT IS HILARIOUS!!!

He does an Earl impersonation and when he does it, it brings the house down. IT IS A RIOT!! but that's another story........

Alex demostrated his abilty to get a grip on his behavior as evidenced during his final match with Shane van Boening when he was completely quiet.By the way For the ESPN matches Alex wore plum colored shirt with a very light plum colored slacks and his cloths were beautiful.

OMG! a pool player having a little fun and displaying a little character, this is gonna put pro pool in the gutter.... I think it's a good thing.

For all of you that think Alex's game is a joke, play him for the cash and see how funny you think that is once you're busted.

Lighten up.
