Europe rocks

Macon is about 45 mins to an hour south on 75.
It isnt too bad of a ride if you have some free time on a weekend.

If you want to have a taste of some real down south pool room flavor then there is another pool room called L and W on the southside of Macon.

It aint pretty and it aint classy.... but there are some pretty good players

I have some close famliy ties there and I can make sure you are taken care of if you want to stop by.

Damn, its this sort of stuff that I missed out on from posting, I have got some great info while travelling. Sadly though I fly to vegas Friday and got a couple of big nights before then so no time now. I might be back for work though so will give you a shout them.

Atlanta is a funny city, I've never really lived in land but it's certainly not a bad place, need a car though for sure!

That was always my biggest problem when I lived there. The transit system (MARTA) is the worst of any big city I have ever seen. That, in turn, makes the traffic as bad as I have ever seen. Just be glad you didn't have to take 400 before it was enlarged. It sometimes took me almost 2 hours to go 4 or 5 exits, lol.

Yeah it's certainly no New York! I asked the boss about getting a car and he said "too much hassle, just get cabs", I'm not sure he realised how expensive they are! lol

Mind you I once spent 2 hours on the bus from central LA to Malibu, I can drive across England in that time!

Ah, yes, where is the USA on the pool map in 2009?

The year is young, but there have been six events with an internationally diverse field.

Derby City Nine Ball
Shane Van Boening (USA) beat Lee Van Corteza (Asia) in the final

Derby City One Pocket
John Schmidt (USA) beat Scott Frost (USA) in the final

Derby City Bank Pool
John Brumback (USA) beat Rodolfo Luat (Asia) in the final

Derby City Straight Pool
Danny Harriman (USA) beat Darren Appleton (Europe) in the final

Derby City 10-Ball
Lee Van Corteza (Asia) beat Ralf Souquet (Europe) in the final

Valley Forge 10-Ball
John Schmidt (USA) beat Corey Deuel (USA) in the final

So, in the first six significant events having a diverse, international field, the USA has won five of them. Asia the other. USA, Asia and Europe have two second place finishes each.

That's where the USA is in 2009, fella.

Ha! yeah, where're all the americans?

Tbeuax the secondary education of adults is free in most European countries.

One thing I've learned in life is NOTHING is free. Somebody always has to pay for it. By the way how do they decide (and who decides) who goes to medical school and who goes to ditch digger school?

I like you, Tbeaux!

I wouldn't say ditch digger vs medical but years ago I read that in some European countries at an early age you are given a test (similar to IQ) based on the results a person is judged eligible for a trade school or higher education such as the University

I know this might be seem a bit crazy but they rely on test scores and performance in school

Whatever, all you Europeans. Sure, you guys are on a roll. But remember, you'd all be speaking German if us crazy Americans didn't show up.

Hahaha! If I remember correctly the Russians and the British where a part of this aswell. Im sure all occupied countries at that stage still speak German.. they had 5 years to practice ;-)

Back on topic..

I really don't give a ****! As long as there are good matches I can enjoy. I have my favorite players and it has to do with their personality, game strategy, stroking abbility and love for the game. I've been to the World cup of Pool twice and enjoyed watching Oi ( what a character this guy has and what fun he show's us the sport can be aswell).. At the World Pool masters I enjoyed Morris because he was the only one off all americans who came and sit with us and showed lots of humor. I enjoy watching Jasmin and Niels because of der dedictation awards the sport and Nick because of his talent... Thomas for his cut balls and Archer for his autistic ways of putting the balls in another pocket before playing on.. Pfff just enjoy... and who cares...??!! I do not give a shit as long as the best players win..

Being chauvinistic I offcourse bet on my own horses being the European players ;-)

Wow Nick beat Archer... who would have thoughed..

YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

And before yall post back that Niels is out... yeb, he was not feeling good and played bad. Good thing he was beaten bij another European player who I respect a lot. Tony is a good person who shoots like lightning.

When I started with pool it was USA all the way, then the Asian invation came who kicked ass with very effective pool, now it seems like the Europeans took that effective pool and added some mojo to it.
Checking out the youth the Asians are the dominators but new rising talents from Europe are on their way (check out resent results on the Europeans).

Question is:
Where is the USA?
Is there a plan to do something about this?

No...Metallica rocks. You're trying to stir sh*t.

Whatever the Europeans win at the WPM would they care to wager in a race to 100 10 ball against a top three american..OK didnt think so....

Wow Hatch beat Appleton ...who would have thought.....but Appleton was not feeling good and played bad and Hatch just has alot of luck or mazzel or bof or geluk.... eh Soldaat van Oranje??

Even in Vegas it was Europe all the way!!!!

To bad Nick lost in the final, as I would love to see a Dutchman take the title.

Bud please, keep the hope and faith for the USA and maybe you will win a tournament one day!

Easy now it's a 16 man invitational with 2 americans & 8 or 9 europeans playing a short race with gaffy break rules.
