European 14.1 championship

things do change, but i have to wonder
(while biting my tongue)
how many jumps will be attempted
and how many successfully
I saw a single jump tried after a safety. There was a ball near the side and the cue ball was on the other side of what remained of the rack. The jumper made the ball in the side.

Under EPBF official 14.1 tournaments, jump cues have never been prohibited as long as I remember. USA went their own 14.1 way a long time ago and a different set of regulations are used, with jump cue ban being probably the most notable difference.

Btw, the Kozoom stream cost roughly $30 for the whole event of 11 days or so. You can watch all tables. Not a bad deal!

Per Wiki: Ortmann has won 5 of 9 finals, and Souquet has won 3 of 8.

Feijen now 8 of 11!
If you want to blow your mind away, take a look at 8-ball EC finals stats. Ralf played 11 consecutive 8-ball finals in the 90s with winning most of them. That feat will never be beaten for sure!

Yes, worth the look! According to Wikipedia, Souquet has won 11 of the 16 8-Ball finals in which he has played. He was in the finals 12 years in a row from 1989-2000, winning 9 of the 12, including 5 wins in a row. Since then he is 2 wins and 2 losses in finals. Impressively, the last (so far) of his wins was 33 years after the first!

That safety exchange at 55-55 was a thing of beauty.

Filler might be the straightest shooter who ever lived, but in a game where you can shoot any ball and it’s impossible to play safeties… Niels played the best safeties.

Back cut bank on the 4 ball moving cue ball to the opposite string line. Led to a cluster buster and Feijen never trailed again.

The last rack… needed 15, so just a shot on the break ball, no worries bout the stack.

Accidentally made a cluster on the long rail; self-imposed mistake : 3 balls cock-blocking each other. Beauty of a shot to get on the 8 below the rack. Tangent plus a little draw takes out the middle ball in the cluster and it’s a cake-walk from there.

they took one or two close rack scratches in that exchange but the top cushion scratch never seems to be in their minds. even taking three and re-break will shuffle the cards a bit
