Is this an Open event, or is it a seeded event? I know the US is Not OPEN any longer.

Yes the us open is open .. all you have to do is win a qualifying tournament or get invited based on your finishes in that tournament. No different then golf’s us open.
Ok, what I meant to say was....do you have to win a qualifying event to get into the European Open?
No. Runners-up were also invited. That may change when the qualifiers get more numerous and organized.
So, you have to at least get second. You just can't show up/pay/play?
