Due to lack of european numbers at the derby mainly because except for me and neils fiejen none of them play one pocket and banks... so expenses high for them..

Was good this year young russian and dutch players made the trip for the experience..

nick van den berg made his first trip and enjoyed it.

Problem for Asia and Europe nobody plays banks or one pocket and lot of them probably don't even know the rules. this why in past years only 6-8 europeans show up and no asians except filipinos but these guys spent half there careers playing pool in states so learnt the games and got a great teacher.

but next year am hoping along with greg sullivan to make sure we get more Europeans and Asians over. I think with Bigfoot 10ball growing and if can make it a 32 man field with all the best Europeans /Asians/and Americans it would be the greatest field ever in one tournament.. with around 30k winner it will be a big carrot for these players to travel for sure. But it must be call shot 10ball official 10ball rules Worldwide Not call safe just call shot..Why in USA the change rules week to week doesn't make sense to me, We need to standardize the rules.. I will be looking to contact people in Europe/Asia to run qualifiers and win spots and get all expenses paid trip.. It be great to get more players over worldwide and learn the american games banks pool and one pocket ,one pocket especially because its a awesome game and improves your pool knowledge no end.

To see large numbers from europe and asia would be a big step forward to the derby and pool in america and i will try to help..

if anybody interested in running qualifiers in Europe and asia let me know by pm.

I already made few contacts in asia and Europe and looking good.

My goal for derby city 2015 is to see a list like the following

shaw

Start taking entries now. Make the entry fee $2100 and $100 less for each month they pay early. So if they pay now 11 months in advance then they get in for $1000.

Boy what a great field that would be!

You know, I got a great deal on a 10 foot Gold Crown III 3 cusion table. Maybe I will convert it into a bigfoot!

Good post Darren.

I also think that making an 8-ball event would go a long way to getting more international attention. It is a world recognized game that Americans, Europeans, and Asians all know. You are not wrong that the "only" event being a non-niche American game in the main events is 9-ball and that makes it a little under-attended when looking at the international professional pool community.

The only issue is squeezing an 8-ball event into it somehow. Perhaps instead of having a main DCC 8-ball event they could follow up the Bigfoot 10-ball event with a Bigfoot 8-ball event that runs during the one pocket and 9-ball.

To speed things up and make this possible they could get in 2 Bigfoot tables instead of one and run 2 matches at one time and either having the commentators able to switch from match to match on the stream more like a "golf" type of broadcast or they could do a split screen presentation showing the complete matches on both tables.

I think having a $1000 entry 10-ball event AND a $1000 entry 8-ball event might make it far more worth while for Asians and more Europeans to make the trip. Making the field for both 32 players and running both events could be done with 2 tables.

Darren, Nice to meet and talk to you at the derby. Good luck in this endeavor. Did you like playing on the 10' or would you rather have it on a 9'? just curious.

i got no 10ft to play on sadly anywhere close to me.. and at derby play banks soon as finished got to go straight into match arena so was prepared and didnt feel comfortable with the equipment and balls sadly.. but next time will try and get more time on table and get comfortable

i prefer 9ft at moment but i might change my mind in time.. next time i play on 10ft i will go back to english 8ball/snooker fundamentals... that extra foot makes big difference...

to celtic am not sure 8ball any good for tv nothing exciting imo.. but i did play 8ball on 10ft at accu-stats arena and was good game on there so could be some milage in what you say..

i like 2k entry also 32 players

64k plus 32k added :-) 96k in pot somebody make it upto 100k

divided by 8 players thats a big pot.

winner 40k runner up 20k semi final 10k quarter final 5k

also maybe 1k most break and runs prize :-)

i willing to help to get these numbers i dont think that difficult to get 32 players at 2k
