Finally I have some video footage of me playing straight pool.
It was a money game against a friend of mine for cheap ( 10 $ ) in a race to 100.
In the video you can see a part of the 42 run I made right after the bad starting break after my opponent left me with this

I shot the the 10 missing the rack :grin: :rolleyes:
But then I managed to kick this combo in and run a 42.

My run ended because I left my self straight on the opening break of the 4th rack :mad:

if you do it again, try to get a better angle with the camera. Tripod looking down. It is very hard to figure out the balls, whether they are touching, whether they are open, etc.

I am not real smart at analyzing patterns but I will throw a little something out there to get the ball rolling.
2:27 in : Nice end of rack sequence to get on the break ball.

3:31 couldn't tell where you were going into the rack but looked like you used the low European break, draw up and back. No scratch and good result.

4:18 went into the balls. couldn't tell if it was necessary or not. Were the balls open? did you need to create a break?
good result.

7:00 ending sequence got a good breaker. Not a classic pattern.

8:45 Nice break with follow. good result.

Got yourself in trouble too early at the end. Lots of open balls.

Have to figure out what your next shot was going to be.

You play very well. Good rhythm, you stroke the balls at a very good pace. Shot selection is good.

The only minor issue I see is that you might be running into the balls more than you should be. I am guilty of the same thing some times but I believe that comes from my lack of cue ball control. John Schmidt keeps telling me when the balls are open and have a pocket to go in, don't touch them. I have some runs where this happens and some runs that are a disaster.

Keep up the good shooting.

I was hittin between the 2nd and 3rd ball of the stack; I used that break shot because the break ball was really near the rack and I had much more confidence in hitting it that way.

Basically I ended up really straight in jacked up against another ball and I shoot it that way cause I didn want to shoot one of the two balls that were there and had too much to travel to get to the pocket( we have pretty large pockets, but they rattle a lot )

Here I ended up pretty straight in with the 5 ball and got lucky not to scratch by following it

Usually I tend to follow what JS always tells you, to leave there the balls that have a pocket, but I have to tell you that I really like an open table instead of a surgery master rack where you have to shot with a lot of accuracy.

My high run is 57 right now, it's 5 months that I've started playing this game and I'm in love with it. Before it was only 9ball and I started playing pool 4 years ago.

My biggest problem in doing high runs is that after some time when I'm starting to run a lot of balls (a lot for me) I have the tendency of becoming a little careless to the details and my runs always end with an easy miss :mad:

I know what you mean, I have had way to many runs end with a careless miss, you can never take anything for granted.

With your style of play you should run between 80 and 110 within 6 months if you keep at it.
