I just had my limited edition Schon, about 15 years old, refinished. I happened to be in Wisconsin on a trip, went to the factory, decided to leave it there for refinishing after Evan looked at it, it was horrible looking - a ton of nicks, scrapes, and a huge gouge on the bottom of the cue when I accidentally hit the metal part on the bottom of a table many years ago. Evan said it would take 6 - 8 weeks - I was surprised by that, but he explained it was an involved process, easily 4 - 5 weeks if he did nothing but work on my cue. $160.00 plus price of shipping the cue back to me in Jacksonville. And he tweaked my other Schon while I was there to be the same weight as the one I was refinishing, so when I switched I wouldn't have to adjust so much.
I am EXTREMELY happy. Even though I had met Evan several times before, as I used to stop in periodically when I lived there for tips and such, I don't think he even remembered me, it had been about 5 years, so I didn't receive any special treatment. Someone there (John I think) called me right at the 7 week mark to tell me it was done, I paid for it and they shipped it right out. Cue is as good as the day I got it, actually better because the new wrap color he used looks nicer than the old color. Not a nick on it, I find myself babying it again since it's so perfect. I guess I wouldn't expect anything less based on my knowing their work over the years, but it's one thing to expect it and another thing for them to deliver it perfectly.
