Evan Clarke with Segen Cues

Stopped into Segen cues with a friend today and got to meet Evan, see the operation, cues in progress, and hits some finished cues. First, Evan is just a great person to talk to...incredibly friendly and easy going and excited about what he has to show off. We talked cues and large format photography and I enjoyed it very much

Now, onto the cues...I was impressed. The leather wraps were impeccably well done and while I'm not a leather wrap fan I did find a few I think I would be happy with. The cues felt absolutely natural in hand, great balance to them. The hit I think was incredible. Evan says it's a "firm" hit, as in not soft but maybe not quite super hard either. It just felt like a cue I could pick up and play and have the cue just disappear in my hand because it felt natural.

Since I just got a cue I was not shopping for one myself but if I was I'd buy one without hesitation. They're players! My friend did order one that will be a wrapless and it was cool listening to them discuss the build.

I was also impressed with the zero pressure approach Evan had, he was more than happy sending us out the door with a business card to think about things, he in no way tried to sell us a cue...just offered up the information and facilitated the order with excitement when asked.

Great visit! And there are going to be some really cool and interesting designs in the near future...saw some works in progress with materials I haven't seen used in cues before and they were pretty cool!

Don't ask Evan

Try Tiger Products stacked Leather Wraps on your Schon!
I did and I love the results! They can color match it do any cue, if mine look too busy they can tone it down.
Check them out! The feel is awesome hard like linen yet smooth like leather!

Unless Evans philosophy has changed he is not a fan of stacked leather wraps and will not install them. If I recall correctly he said they were for tennis rackets not pool cues.
