LOL...RIGHT!! And after it gets subjected to all of the temperature extremes and humidity...here's your super-duper break cue after 2 months. (or ANY cue)

Humidity ? What's that ? Around here, it's a dry heat ... sometimes a dry cold ... occasionally a dry nice day ...

my tip tool got stolen. Since then I've just been mooching when I need to use one.

Someone once took a bite out of my chicken sandwich while I was playing... oh, and several french-fries have gone missing while I was in the washroom.

You just can't trust anyone these days... sigh.

Back in 99

I had a water leak in my house and had to have my carpet replaced. Not thinking anything about it, I had the carpet guys go next door and get my key and let themselves into my house and do the carpet while I was at work. I didn't have the time off at work to come and watch them do it. In my 2x2 Porper I had an Arnot Wadsworth and a Cuetec jump/break, the Mike Massey edition with the white buttcap. Anyway...it wasn't until a few weeks later that I opened my case and noticed that they took my Cuetec. Now the Arnot was worth about 500, but yet they took the Cuetec. I guess it was a cooler looking cue, being a jump/break. I have yet to find a Cuetec that broke as good as that particular one. I was truly lucky they didn't take the ArnotQ. Otherwise, I have had pretty decent luck.

Are you up around Calgary? I think I remember being somewhere up in that area and it WAS dry as hell, unlike most everything else around it.

Saskatoon is 300 miles east of Calgary, a little bit north as well. Normally we are extremely dry, just like the Dakotas, but this year is a bit different. This year some are starting to understand that humidity thing, but normally ... well, 'it's a dry heat/cold'. Hey, we gotta have something going for us ! And an average annual rainfall of 12 inches (350mm according to Environment Canada) or so keeps us nice and dry. More interesting tidbits :

- Sask Ave. Humidity 56.8% (Dave translation : it's a dry heat/cold)
- Extreme Max. Temp 40.6 C (DM translation : Fu#%ing hot !)
- Extreme Min Temp -50.0 C (DM translation : Fu#%ing cold !)

All cues stay straight in Saskatchewan. Also, I have several bridges for sale, likely one in your area, please contact me for pricing.

Bruce,
Hell yes!! In high school my cue and soft case were stolen at the local pool hall while I was in the bathroom. A few weeks later I go to the local cue dealer to replace it - and lo and behold there is my cue in his display case for sale (same chip on the butt, I KNOW it's mine), case is gone. Of course all I heard was the same "No, I can't remember who sold it to me, I buy and sell so many cues. Just show me some proof of ownership and I'll be happy to return it to you... blah, blah, blah." Police report including description was not good enough for this guy - police didn't care at all. Do I sound bitter?? It was probably a less than hundred dollar cue (but my prized possession - few of my friends had a 2-piece cue), it happened 37 years ago, but if I saw that cue dealer today on the sidewalk, I'd probably swerve and try to drive over his foot if I could. I know EXACTLY how S.Lee feels.

Stupidity AWARD goes to the Old Guy who stopped at Safeway (MARKET) for something on the way home from playing Pool. Left his Cue & Case in Plain Sight in his Golf Cart. Well GUESS WHAT, NO Cue or Case. Ripped off out of his Golf Cart.... Many where i live have Golf Cart they use a a Community Transportation Vehicle.

D'maker,
More likely an Iron City (?Iron Sh$##y) or an Old Frothingslosh (I still have a complete set of those bottles). It used to be the only area in which you could buy Rolling Rock - my dad would bring a few cases at a time from Pittsburgh to Indiana when I was in college (how many underage college kids can say that???) - it would always disappear quickly.

LMAO...I had completely forgotten about Old Frothingslosh. That was certainly a memory jogger. Iron City is still guzzled up there along with their light version called ICLight...(YUK!!) Another rotten beer from years ago, you may or may not remember, was Duquesne. It tasted like old corn cobs had been soaked in the beer...man, was it lousy!
