Ever have a disastrous experience in dealing with a pool cue builder, pool case builder, mail order/internet billiards supply merchant, or getting warranty service on a defective product that is billiards related.

I personally will give (4) Thumbs up to Seyberts, Mueller, Pool Dawgs, Chalkers by Ken for both their before sales service, and post sales warranty service (living up to their warranty, or satisfaction guarantee.

But I know there are horror stories like a friend of mine who sent their Meucci Cue to Meucci for warranty repair.

First it never got to Meucci until proof of deliver was produced it was delivered & signed for, than it was ?LOST? in Warranty Repair.

That after 15 month someone else's cue was returned to my friend, and now over 15 month later he is still waiting for his cue to be found, repaired, and returned with little hope of this ever happening.

Share your good, and bad experiences with pool cue builder, pool case builder, mail order/internet billiards supply merchant, or getting warranty service on a defective product that is billiards related.

I got sent the wrong free video with my Playboy subscription one time. I wanted the wet college girls & instead I got the dirty farm girls. Damn Hef!:D

I've never had a bad experience with any pool vendor. I've dealt very successfully with (AZB's own) "chrisonline", Billiards Pro Shop, Jack Justis, Schon, Joss, JW Petree, Muellers, Seybarts...

Varney, I'll take that video off of your hands if you don't want it. Send in a plain brown wrapper.

I had good experiences with Seyberts. Bad with Mueller and with Predator.

I have always had good dealings with pool people...im just lucky I guess. Just recently had a FANTASTIC deal with Mr. Varney. Great Cue and Great Businessman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I personally use the otter system
5 otters = great
1 otter = bad

5 otters: Jack Madden, shag fu, spankman 8, Hal, Neilsen's
4 otters: billiards warehouse, meullers
3 otters: n/a
2 otters: n/a
1 otter: Seyberts

Disasters

I try to avoid being critical if it is a single incident...a flaw, a bad answer to my concern or poor response to my needs from a cuemaker. With few exceptions, I have been treated very well. Those deals gone bad usually have an explanation not worth getting angry about so I just move on.

There was one unforgivable offense that I will relate though...a cuemaker requested that my very valuable shipment be held at the Fedex depot rather than delivered to my home. He even had the fedex rep fill out the shipping bill. The package was delivered in the pouring rain and left unattended on my doorstep in spite of those instructions. Federal Express will never get a second chance from me. Thank goodness the cuemaker took the time to insulate the package contents well.

Had a cracked butt cap on an old (68-72) joss and contacted Dan Janes to inquire about replacement. They would not restore one of their own cues to original condition. They were going to throw away the delrin butt cap and replace with a butt cap that they use on their current cues, and put a new logo on it. You can't tell me that delrin is hard to come by. I wasn't asking them to do it for nothing.
