EVER Played a Drug Dealer for Money?
Reading some other threads today made me this of this topic.

Only one time did I knowingly play a drug dealer for money, at a bar that I frequented all of the time. I guess I figured that it would be "safer".

I had been drinking since noon that day, and it was around 5pm when we started playing.

We started playing for $20 per game. I won all three at $20, but just barely (I was drunk after all).

He then asked to play for $100 per game. He left the bar and stopped at home (must have been close by) to get more money.

After I won the first game for $100, he commented that, I was shooting "better" now than before. The first warning sign.

During the second $100 game, in come 2-3 of his "friends" that proceeded to watch us play.

I seriously was drunk and at one point I literally shot at the wrong balls! Everyone started hollering and saying I was cheating and rearranging the balls!

I then started asking the "friends" if they were interfering with the game, if THEY wanted to play.

I really didn't realize what I was getting in to. My mechanic stopped in the bar and later told me that they were all going to beat the sh!t out of me.

I won 4 games at $100 per game and then the guy quit. I think what saved me is that the owner vouched for me that I had been there since noon and was drunk.

Every time that guy came in the bar and saw me, he always commented that I had hustled him that day....but he didn't seem too upset about it.

Anyone else have a good drug dealer story?

When I lived in NY I used to play this dude names Worm. He liked to play for $50 usually the first game then go to a $100 a game, he would lose 2-3 maybe 4 games. One time he went double or nothing for $200 he was stuck. Never any BS, just play pool and peel off which was sweet. Always liked running into him but he is dead and gone now, passed away on the streets about 4-5 years ago I do believe.

Sorry for your loss

Played a lot of them

In my book, The Green Felt Jungle, you will se me playing a lot of known drug dealers, one lost 79 games at $100 a game, we played for two days.

Wow, that's a lot of games for him to go off on. You must have let the guy win 1 out of every 5 or so I would think to keep him at least somewhat interested.

These days it seems almost as likely that you could win drugs from a pool player. Anyone want to play for some adderall?

Don't know if he was a straight up drug dealer or not (he was definitely bad news), but I played Gabby (Pouncey?) in Houston back in the late '80s some 9 ball for $20 a rack and pulled up when I caught on that he was about to put the bite on me. I didn't catch on to who he was or how well he really played until some years later.

I beat one years ago 15 out of 16 games of 8 ball at 100 a game. No problems, handed me my money and bought me a beer.
The drug dealer money dried up when the world series of poker became popular, they all started playing cards. At least they had a chance at that.
Nothing like a good drug dealer with a gambling itch.

Yeah, all of your "no problem" stories are making me think that the only problem with the guy that I was playing was that he thought that I was hustling him. Even after the fact, he really wasn't too upset about it. He just didn't like thinking that someone was setting him up, but a straight up game he seemed fine with.

Back about 20 years ago,I left my usual poolroom and went to a nightclub to meet a girl.

While I'm waiting on her,I wind up playing a typical Nino Brown type. He wins 3 games in a row for a beer playing bank 8 ball while I'm goofing off with a house cue.

Maybe the alcohol got on him,but he started jawing about playing for 50 a game,I go out to the car and bring my cues in.

From there,I win 16 games in a row @50 and to his credit,he paid off every nickel.

Later on,I'm in the bathroom and he comes in behind me with an agenda,so I grab an empty bottle and prepare to defend myself.

He then tells me "look dog,I need some of that money back so I can go re-up,so I'm gonna sell ya all this jewelry I got on for 500,what's up with that?".

I check it out and make sure best I can that it was real gold. There was a nugget style Seiko watch,a very similar matching bracelet,a 10mm wide herringbone chain and bracelet, and a 14mm rope chain. I agree and paid him 500,then left with ole girl.

I caught a HELL of a break the next day and sold it all for 2600. Tommy D.

Nice score. A bit risky buying the stuff, but it paid off.
