I couldn't believe my ears when i seen this show when Ewa was giving a tip of the day, and she showed how to do a draw shot, and she said speed wasn't important, what. From my experience speed is very important unless the shot is very close to the cueball then yah speed isnt important, but if you have a long shot then speed is important you just can't hit the ball soft and expect it to come back, as the cueball rolls backwards then skids or slides then rolls forward when you hit the cueball low right. Anyways i just thought she gave some good advice on the draw shot but left out a few things. Cole.

She's trying to explain that some people think you have to hit the ball extremely hard to draw the ball. A half-table length draw shot can be hit very hard, drawing all the way back to the end rail, or you can put a good stroke on it and hit it about 70% as hard and draw the same amount of distance. Basically, amount of spin is more important than speed.

I think that the ability to draw the cueball also depends on cloth conditions. On some tables I can't seem to draw very well and on others, well, look out.

I got a feeling that someone who doesn't even know how to draw a shot (which was her target audience) doesn't really care about cloth conditions. I doubt they even realize there can be a difference in cloth conditions.

She is talking about developing a good smooth stroke and good extension (follow-through). Once you master this, pocketing the ball is so much easier.

Exactly...and the shot she demonstrated was a fairly short shot.
