Any of you guys do custom exotic skin wraps? Wanting to get a lizard or snakeskin wrap put on a predator with a factory leather wrap. Thanks for the help!

Send it to Kenny Koo aka FlyingSnail. He's a member here, shoot him a pm. He does as fine a job as anyone in the world with exotic wraps & he has a selection 2nd to none. You won't be sorry.

Almost any cuemaker can do a good Lizard wrap for you, but you need to ask some questions before getting someone to install a snake skin. You need to ask how they will seal the wrap to keep the scales from coming off. If they offer any method besides a complete seal like the normal finish that is on the cue, I advise passing on having them install it.

Although I have never installed one I've heard the same thing previously. I've also been told that when doing a snake wrap that the skin is so thin that it must be put on twice, one on top of the other to fill the wrap groove. I don't know if that is true or not and doubt if I'll ever find out from personal experience as I have no intentions of installing one. Just more useless information cluttering my head leaving no room for things that I would like to remember.

Hi,

I have found that when I install a leather wrap that the leather will stretch a little with you pinch the connection line together.

When doing ring tail lizard wraps you better know exactly where you make your cut because they don't stretch like the leather. I learned the hard way and it cost me $ 150.00. I don't know how snake stretches but I would be concerned about that detail.

Putting the snake skin on smaller than the wrap groove is pretty much what you want. That way you can build the finish up to match the other finish and sand it flush and smooth without touching any scales. I would never put one on top of the other. But I use the flow out cue cote finish and it can go on real thick.

wrap

thanks for all of youe imput, learned quite a bit from it, so if you use lizard as opposed to snake you can leave it uncleared, correct? and cueman how much to put a lizard on a cue with a factory leather wrap?

That is correct. Genuine Lizard wrap is $175 plus shipping.
