Here's the almost complete players list:

It looks like there will be semis at 4 and 5:30 and a final at 7 all on Dec. 10. Apparently a local hotel and the hall of fame are doing some special so you get hotel, reserved seating, and hall of fame entry for a really good price. You don't need to buy a ticket for the hall of fame to see the tournament, but if you're a basketball fan and want to check it out, why not do it while you're there. What really sucks is I have to be in a friend's wedding that day, so I won't get to check it out at all, but it sounds like an interesting concept if nothing else.

Where are you, and what are you talking about?? Geographical details are of interest to many of us. We can always just guess about which Hall of Fame.
 
Well, Since You Asked So Nicely

I am talking about the tournament that will be held in Springfield, Massachusetts on December 10th at the basketball hall of fame. Also, for those of you who may be coming from afar to check out this tournament, the website for the event www.texasholdembilliards.com has been updated with the hotel, event, hall of fame package information.

Here's the geographical information everyone is so interested in.

Springfield is located at 42°6'45" North, 72°32'51" West (42.112411, -72.547455)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 86.0 km² (33.2 mi²). 83.1 km² (32.1 mi²) of it is land and 2.8 km² (1.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 3.31% water.

All in good fun really, hope some of you have a chance to make it.

Many thanks. Please report after the tournament for those of us whose GPS systems are on the blink and can't find our way there. Is there going to be some special, poker-like set of rules to liven things up a bit (I can't access their site from this computer)?
 
What I know about the format

Each player will be staked with 100,000 in chips. In each match all 4 players are in the game at all times like the skins tournaments, and the minimum bet for each game will increase on a set schedule. Each player is "in" for at least the minimum each game and the eventual winner of the game wins everyones stake. The top two from each semi will go to a final under the same format. Overall winner will hold all the chips and win $100,000. If nothing else, somebody else is giving players a chance at a significant payday. You'll be able to check it out on ESPN so you may not want people to spoil it for you by telling who wins.

The last player would have to be Mike Sigel....isn't he the current King of the Hill and greatest player alive.
 
Actually the winner has to face Sigel in the Eliminator from American Gladiators. Last man standing takes the cheese.

But for real, I am so excited to see this tournament. Since I have moved to Massachusetts in July I have seen the Tournament of Champions in Uncasville, CT, the Joss Tour Finale in Oneida, NY, and now add this awesome tournament to the docket. What a good move if I do say so myself.

Any other AZ'ers going? I'll be the guy streaking in the final rack.
 
Wow, the $100,000 Texas Hold'Em Billiard Tournament

Hi Everyone,
I have been checking out this webesite for some time now and decided to post my first message, I give it a big thumbs up (sorry if it's too long). Thanks for sharing this $100,000 Texas Hold'Em Billiard Tournament info. I live about 2 hours away from Springfield, MA and I am hoping that my 14 year old son will take the trip with me on Dec 10. He loves pool, that's not the problem, it's that he may be to "cool" to hang out with mom for the weekend. But the billiard tournament itself seems interesting with the texas hold'em twist. I hear Springfield has a lot to do (especially this time of year) and has a fun downtown with lots of restaurants and bars and stuff. I'll have to be good though, because my son will be with me. The hotel deal of only $99 at the Hilton Garden Inn sounds great and my son wants to tour the Basketball Hall of Fame (plus the two tickets to the hall are included in the hotel special-makes it even better). Thanks to 96supersport for explaing some of the tournament details and for listing www.springfielddowntown.com it has all the tournament info....
