Nice piece of Bacote, love the figuring. What is the joint ring/buttcap made of?

Do you make your own full splices or do you buy them?

Jim

I have seen you ask this question of him before, with no answer.
Based on information I have been given, I presume that he does build them himself.

Who really cares if he spliced it or not:confused: .....Its a beautiful piece of wood and a nice looking cue, good work.

We should start a New AZ forum Category here.
"Hi,I'm an a**hole" and jimbo can post with the other 2 or 3 that are registered Users on this site!

For those of us who have a clue about cues some would like to know exactly what techniques were used and if the cuemaker made the cue or bought the parts. It may not matter to you, and you might not even know the difference, I feel you'll be better off going threw life that way. My question isn't derogatory or inflammatory, it's just an honest question that the maker seems to want to ignore. I think if I were a buyer I'd be more concerned about his non-response then my question. BTW sorry you feel I'm an A-hole, maybe you'd do better to ignore my posts.

I don't think it's being an a-hole to ask and I'm curious as well.

Jimbo,I'd be surprised if 5% of your posts had something nice to say,do everybody a favor and stay logged out.I also highly doubt you're a buyer, decent player or a knowledgeable cue maker by some of thoughtless comments you made in the past so all you have is an opinion and it seems you sure like to voice it.

Isn't it funny how the little guy always has the big mouth.

Did I miss the answer?

I too have been waiting for Arnot to answer because I find the area of his web site that addresses this very interesting. He calls this the "Arnot long splice" and there is a section on his web site where he shows the pics of the pieces, here:

http://www.arnotq.com/pages/21/21.html

This is in the "Informative" heading on the site. So, since they're called Arnot Long Splice, of course I assume they are made in his shop.

I also like the "Cue Kit" description in his cue making school, and the "Arnot Splice" section under the "informative" heading.

Chris

PS. I just PM'd Arnot to let him know there is action on this thread.

Being nice has little to do with forums or learning things, if all you want is to read people kissing each others ass then maybe you should do yourself a favor and stay logged out. If you care to learn things I'd say ignore the nice, not nice side of the posts and read for the educational aspect.

This is a forum that is all about sharing opinions, you are doing it right now. I don't care if you are a buyer a cuemaker or a player, none of that matters as far as I know. I have also never claimed to be any of those things, but again I don't believe it matters. Again I ask that you not put *your* spin on the intent of my post.

Isn't it funny how the little guy always has the big mouth.

Chris
Yup funnier then you'll ever know.

Jim <---The lil guy

PS your post seems to be a lot more negative then my asking a cuemaker about his construction techniques, or lack there of as it may be. I wonder if you're a lil guy?

Chris

You couldn't be further from the truth.

That and everyone is entitled to their opinion, whether you like it or not.

If you don't like it change the channel or pull up a bucket of popcorn and watch the show.

Two out of three wrong, at the very least, and maybe three. And you've obviously never seen Jim. LOL!!

Here's another link as well to the cue. Since he says he picked the woods, I assume he built it from scratch.

I guess I am missing something here.

Chris

It also says:

It was spliced with a very nice piece of Bird's Eye Maple.

Which to me sounds like an odd way to word it, but again when he answers we'll all know.
