F/S Gilbert Titleist Conversion

I bought the Titleist blank at the 2011 SBE. Andy completed the conversion in August. The butt weighs 15oz. Andy did a great job of matching the veneer work when he built the boxes in the butt sleeve. The boxes are ivory, the joint is ivory, and the ring work has ivory. The wrap is elephant.

Shaft 1 weighs 4 1/4 oz and I believe is 13 mm (calipers are not working). This shaft have very minimal play.

Shaft 2 weighs 3 7/8 oz and I believe is also 13 mm. This shaft has never been chalked.

sold delivered in the US. Will not ship outside of the US given all the ivory.

That is a VERY NICE cue. Can you tell me what type of wood that is?

I love Titlists...I'm having Mike Pancerny convert one right now for me and I hope it comes out a beauty like yours.

I received a PM asking if this was a real titlist or a tribute and whether the points matched up.

First, this is a real titlist conversion. Andy Gilbert is a friend and invited me to SBE. I went and found this titlist blank. Andy took the blank back with him and completed the conversion. For confirmation, please call Andy and ask him about completing this conversion for Steven Burrus. He will remember the cue.

Second, the points do not match up. I don't know of any titlist conversions that do. These are old house cues that were not built to the same standards of today's custom cues.

I've tried to take a few pics showing the points to not match up. And, a couple of pics where the veneer bleeds out (not sharp at the point), which I believe is typical for titlist conversion.

This is one of the nicer conversations i've seen, i believe i commented on this cue before on a seperate thread...i could be wrong.
Nonetheless, it's a real nice conversion, with some nice addition and i hear this gilbert guy ain't too shabby

I just made a comment in my Mike Webb Thread that I would consider trade for firearms. So, I'm making that same comment on this nice Gilbert Conversion. Willing to consider trade for firearms. I like 45 acp and 357 Mag. But, will listen to what you have.

Steven
