**SOLD**F/s mcdermott d21 just refinished-i2-lizard wrap

I've decided to sell my Mcdermott D21. I just got it back from Mcdermott a few days ago. Jaime did an amazing job completely refinishing the entire cue and adding a beautiful lizard wrap. He also refinished the original maple shaft and I purchased a new low deflection I2 shaft with matching ringwork. I'm selling it with both shafts. The I2 has 2 racks on it and the original shaft has a new tip that hasn't been chalked. I am the original owner of this cue and purchased it in the late 80's from a Mcdermott dealer. I'm not sure what it's worth but I will entertain all offers. The shaft alone with matching ringwork lists for $300. It is absolutely flawless and looks better than new. Please feel free to comment on it's value.

So . . .

What kinda' price range you thinkin' for the whole set-up. I'm very interested. PM me if you don't want to post it.

The dealers used to say

I get these for 50% off and yours is used. Then take them in trade for big customs for 30% tops. Cold world out there. Pretty Cue.
Nick :)

Wow that's sweet!

Very nice looking cue, the wrap sets it off nicely IMO. Just looked through the 2nd edition Blue Book of Pool Cues, they list this cue for $450 under a 98% grading. That's a start, but just getting refinished, new wrap and ld shaft, your guess is as good as mine. GLWS!

I don't understand what you're trying to say.

Nick doesn't mean anything by it.

If I were you I would list a price, and stay firm on it. The market is not pretty these days, but that cue is a classic.

Good Luck with your sale.

Thanks. What do you think is a fair price with the I2 shaft?

I collect these d series cues and here's my opinion. They seem to selling (with a few exceptions) for what they stickered for new. Use a cue for 25 years, get it refinished and it will be worth the same as it was when it was new. nothing wrong with that.
Some guys cling to the bluebook prices which are the same ones as on McD website. Once you start getting into the pointed cues they just don't hold up. I've not paid over 400 for any of mine
for me the G core wouldn't not add any value over a straight full sized original.
They are great cues and fun to collect.

The I2 is twice as much as a G core. I agree if you are collecting these cues a low deflection shaft may not add much value but if you intend on playing with the cue at all it should add value to it.

I guess I don't know much about the shafts, I2, G core, matching predator. These don't change the value in older cues to me. I wouldn't pay more
for a cue that had one as opposed to the same cue with a big original shaft say,12.5omm and up
Great cue btw

Andy
play with all of mine

My opinion is the cue is worth at most $400-$450. That may not be what uou want to hear, but its the truth and that price is as good as its gonna get. The ld shaft really does nothing to the value of a cue. Someone could say they dont want the shaft just the butt. What would you do the? Some people don tlike ld shafts. You have take things like that into consideration. These are tough times for all, so id say if you get and offer over $350' take it. Just my opinion, and as we all know it probably means nothing. GLWS!

he kinda hit the nail on the head. Do you have use for the fancy shaft on another cue you have ? My brother really likes the cue but we have a maker on here that makes our shafts out of old growth white rock. Please PM me a cash price pay pal shipped with and with out shafts.Does anyone have interest in the shaft ? Maybe it can be done that way also. I agree that wrap sets off the cue and although that type of cue is not our usual that cue has a quality appearance to it .

nix that I was just told on the phone the rings would be required and to try the shafts anyway so please send me a price shipped with signature ID verification.

I'm shocked at the lack of people who care about having a quality LD shaft. Even my sneaky has a Predator 314-2.

great cue

blue book does show 450 at 98% but i would put this cue above that. im a mcdermott collector from the cinci area. if you have the original shaft to go with the cue and given that it has been redone by mcdermott, honestly if i were looking for one of these cues and really wanted it in my collection ( already have ) $600 is really not out of the park as long as you do include the Ishaft. the D series cues are very sought after to McD collectors because thats what most of them would get when they started playing back in the 80's. if you have any questions about McD cues feel free to PM me. more than happy to help.
