The Mezz-Exceed FB page just posted info on the alarming outbreak of fake Exceeds. If you have concerns contact Mezz for any info. Just a fyi.

This one is for sale on FB , not sure if real or not....

With the bloated prices for them it was only a matter of time. Combine that with Mezz manipulating the numbers produced and fakes were bound to show up.

I assume that China is producing them somewhere. They love to produce fakes and have no problems with silly things like patents, copyrights or any of that western nonsense…

You’re joking or that one has to be a fake. A plain Jane is now over 4 grand. The only place to buy a new one in the USA is J & J cues. No one else including Mezz USA gets Exceed Cues.

And there you have to join a list which is populated by dealers that have accounts with Mezz.

He sent me almost a dozen pictures and claims it to be genuine. $1,850 is his asking price, shipped.

Just dont want to get screwed and this seems to good to be true, which is often a warning sign.

Question : if I do pick it up, how do I definitively confirm whether it is authentic or not?

isn't exceed the custom and/or premium offshoot of mezz? why would they produce less than possible? it's not OPEC..

isn't exceed the custom and/or premium offshoot of mezz? why would they produce less than possible? it's not OPEC..To drive up the price by making them scarce. Rarity drives up the price. Less than two years ago a plain Exceed was about 2300 now they are over 4000.
Exceed is not an offshoot of Mezz. It is a Mezz cue.

The reason they are not mass produced is because Mezz makes very few of them. Less than two years ago the low end was about 2300. Now they are around 4000.

Rarity created by producing very low numbers have increased the price and demand,

To buy one you have one distributor in the USA for any new Exceed cues. Mezzusa does not show they carry them at all.

This is my opinion after watching the market. I would suggest asking Mezz in Japan and see what they ssy.
