Fake Videos, and drama.

Gee, Where has the time gone? It seems it was just yesterday your hero was apologizing:

"I truely deeply apologize... - 07-15-2010, 02:16 AM
to every 14.1 lover here and especially my friends. i am really sorry and ashamed of that shit i have done on few videos, not all but that don´t matter. I don´t know what went through my head by doing this shit. I deleted all Videos i uploaded in my acount. I guess mike was right that i wanted this so bad or whatever. I know what i am capable of and i have run 100+ before, alone and against friends so it´s not a lie. Also, when i put 2 videos together it was not lied. I only can record 1 hour but this don´t matter also,so if i get a big run on tape that requires me to change cards i will keep that for myself but not upload it.

I wanted to leave this forum at first but i love 14.1 and i have friends here. I mean if you still consider me a friend. If you guys want me to leave here i will, if you want me to stay, i will. That is up to everyone here now. Not sure if i will post any more runs yet as you might always think i cheated somewhere. Of course that´s my own fault.

I promise to work even harder from now and to be straight to you guys.

hope you accept my apology and forgive me what i did.

best to all of you, sascha baran cohen"

I guess they were just words.
Poolplayer: maybe if you pm'd him he would be your buddy. We know he is looking for someone to say how great he is. It seems like it would be a perfect fit.

Hero? you guys are crazy serious about this stuff. fine keep it all to yourselves. you're right i'm wrong

Yes we are. That's why we're here.

I'm not too thrilled about these doctored videos, either. It is a serious goal of mine to run 100 balls at this game. I can't tell you how many videos I've watched - both online and on DVD. I've watched videos of players like Jim Rempe, John Schmidt, and forum members like Marop and Blackjack, and I play with Dave Daya whenever I get the chance... ANYTHING to try and learn and get better. This just sickens me. Not only is he cheating everyone one here, most importantly he's cheating himself. I don't understand how anyone could fabricate an accomplishment. I could not do something like that in good conscience. I don't like to fail (RonF can vouch for that), but I would certainly fail before I'd fake it.

I just think it's a slap in the face to all on here that really are striving to get better.

Even though I don't have it on video, and it's pretty modest compared to a lot of players on here, I can say with good conscience that I've run 63 balls at this game. :)

Now if I can only get 37 more...

Nit

I stopped reading his psycho babble after the 1st episode. I didn't think it would be long before it happened again. Once a cheater always a cheater in my book. Same with women (or guys) who cheat.

I'd like to extend thanks to the video detectives that picked up on it. That's some fine work right there. Hats off, fellas, and have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Winston, can I interest you in a little after-dinner pool these evening?

Later guys,
Ron F

I have my kids for the holiday and am doing some visiting after dinner.

Exactly. Ron wants you to "visit" a table at a certain pool hall, and take the "Visitor's" side of the beads overhead; he'll take the "Home" side. ;)

J/K. I wish a very happy Tryptophan... I mean... Thanksgiving day to both of you and your families!

Thanks, Sean. You have a Happy Thanksgiving, too.

RonF and I have known each other since 7th grade. Something no one on this forum knows, and maybe even RonF forgot, but I didn't, is that we have a friendly little wager ($100) on who reaches the century mark first. I bring this up because of the topic of this thread. I would never cheat to with that wager - our friendship is worth a lot more than $100 and if he gets it before me, I would be more than happy to give it to him. And I know he wouldn't bullsh*t me on it, either. But I think it's a moot point anyway because in all likelihood I think it's going to happen in a game between us so it will be witnessed by the other anyway.

PS - When we play 14.1, I always have the left side of the beads and he always has the right side. Left for Lance (my real name), and right for Ron. We never get confused as to who's side is who's.

Sascha: don't pay any attention to these 'unforgivers'. this is just your 14.1 style and i for one really appreciate your cunning and courage to post bogus runs under the scrutiny of some of the greatest 14.1 players alive.

please don't let the naysayers push you from these forums. try as i might, i have been unable to cheat as convincingly as you and i hope to glean some of your master cheating acumen for my future, bogus 14.1 videos with hopes of turning it into real-time tournament cheats.

thank you, sascha and know that you still have at least one friend here at AZ Billiards.

Let's Clear This Up

yo i got so much going on right now i really don't care weather he moved the ball or not. I'm just watching patterns and fundamentals anyway

I really do not like following up with comments after you but when you make a comment that does not make sense, I have too.
Like I stated in one of my earlier comments. You got into this serious problem here on the 14.1 Forum without knowing the facts. Sascha did not just move a ball.
He took at shot during a run and Missed it. Then set it back up (poorly) and took the shot again. He then cut the video ( he needs to go to editing school). The reason he came up with for the editing was: his girl friend called on the phone and did not want that conversation to be on the video. That is the same story he used 5 months ago when he stated he ran 100 plus and cut the video on a missed one ball. OK. If you would like to write on the 14.1 Forum you are welcome but try to get the facts some what straight before you comment.

There You Are

Sausage, where have you been? You have missed all the fun.
I will say that 5 months ago: You and many others were right and myself and a couple others were found to have egg on our faces. But..... I am glad we did give him that second chance and his true colors came out.
Now we all know for sure where he stands.

moving a ball isn't exactly kicking a baby. you guys are making a huge deal out of this. this wasn't a 10k match or anything. he just made the video for the few of us that dig watching straight pool

Obviously, you once again have no clue what the actual topic is.

You like to watch the videos, that's fine. There is nothing wrong with that.
But watching the videos and their enjoyability is not the topic at hand.

It's about the integrity of his videos.

If he wanted to show everyone a BROKEN run, he could have just as easily posted up the video and claimed that it was a two inning video and said "on such and such rack, i butchered the break shot, so i set it up again to see what the run might have been"
At least that would have been honest.

Obviously, you do not get or care about the principle that is the basis for a run.
To be a run, it has to be WITHOUT ERROR.

I'm sure everyone can run thousands if they get to retake all the shots they missed, but what's the point in that? It's not a run.

To a serious 14.1 person, a run that has been faked, isn't a run at all.
It's a deception.

There have been times where i was on a run, and accidentally bumped the break ball with the rack when i was racking the balls.
As far as i was concerned, the run was over.
Did i keep shooting? Sure, but the score was reset to zero.
There have even been times where i wasn't paying attention and simply lost track of how many racks i was on, and took the word of someone on the sidelines who had been watching, only to learn later that they were mistaken, and that i had to omit a couple racks from the run score.

If anything, i sure as hell wouldn't try to pass it off as anything else.
That's just ridiculous.

I for one, don't really care about the video as once he did it the first time, i knew to consider everything he ever did in the future as pure garbage.
He will always be the attention seeking cheater, regardless of how legitimate the runs might be.
But that's me.

But for others, who befriended him and stuck by him and accepted his apology, only to have that friendship and trust thrown right back in their face, they have every right to be upset.

When you extend your trust to someone, and they S#!T all over it, then maybe you might understand.

But obviously, since you don't have anything invested in this forum, you will continue to make the clueless asinine comments like you always do.

I admit that during practice if I accidentally bump a ball while leaning over the table or something, that I replace it as best as possible. We all bump balls. That's not the same as missing a shot and resetting it and trying again and then editing the video. When I miss a shot, the run's over. And I only replace bumped balls in practice. When RonF and I play a game, we play ALL fouls.

@Superstar: agree 100%

Understandable that many ppl now re still writing comments. For me it s just:
It s in or it is not.....so no reason for me to leave a comment anymore.

mike: i've been moving.... i drove my fully-loaded, 62, 3/4 ton chevy from north texass to north port, florida with two BIG dogs in the cab. somehow we survived and now enjoy the bounty of a tropical climate and bee-you-tee-full surroundings despite a worn suspension that had me weaving all over the road . but, palm trees everywhere including two on my front lawn! :grin-square: .... i heard of the latest brew-ha-ha via facebook and came to show my unwavering support for sascha. let it be known that when i referred to him as "the goon" in numerous PM's, i meant it only as a term of endearment.

That's a nice looking house. I'd advise getting with Sasha to get his expertise on converting that garage into a pool room....and of course the masterful art of cheating.

That's a pretty harsh view of human nature, isn't it? True, this person apparently committed the same offense again, but I'm pretty sure some people learn from their mistakes and don't keep repeating them.

Chief "movaballa" Doug: nice to see your avatar.... sascha reportedly "hangs" in florida not far from me. i've got my watch doggie on high "goon alert" status. :wave2:

For me it is a realistic viewpoint.
I'm am certainly not asking for everyone to agree with it.

If someone else wants to expend their energy looking for the good in every person who deceives them, that is completely up to them.

But i don't waste my energy on that.
