Fallen in love…

With low point 9ball on the new table at a friends hall. He installed a Rasson Victory with sub-4” pockets. We played a few racks of high point with MR break box, but the spreads made the games HARD. Even 8ball is hard on this thing (easily harder than a Chinese table).

We switched to low point 9ball, and had a ton of fun. We played 192 in the rack. Rest random. The wide open racks, and the tight pockets were a good balance. I'd love to watch a low-point 9ball event played on this equipment.

Not a fan of the supporting legs on the table, but love the wood of the rails, which are narrower and without the curve that is on Accura, Wolf etc.

Tight and reasonably deep. I hated them for the first hour or so, but once we found the right game and started playing low point, we had a lot of fun. We played 3-point rule, and went for the wing ball and shape on the one... I kept also making the one in the side during the first set, leaving no two ball. So it was trading racks for a while. But once I got it right, could string two or three racks together a couple of times - game on! Played with the owner of this hall, and he's a similar level to myself. Most fun I have had in a while.

what is low point?
One on the spot. No break box.

I suggested the same, these are harder than Chinese tables in my opinion, because you cannot force balls down the rail into the jaw the same way. they just hang.
I guess there, the Chinese table connection is a transitional priority. I think more in terms of minimal miss pool where rail shots should at least go

Low - 1 on the spot
High - 9 on the spot

I assumed this was the usual way to refer to this. It certainly is where I am situated.
I have never heard this terminology. But, I think I could get used to it or something similar (High Spot etc). Typically I hear 9-on-th-spot or Regular. LOL!

One thing is certain, those cushions extending into the pocket really makes for an unsightly look.:sick::)

I don't know what the pocket angles are supposed to be on a pocket that narrow but it looks like a very tough playing pocket the way the throat narrows, seems like it would be impossible to make a ball down the rail.

supporting legs is a great feature though. i would keep them
I meant that the supporting legs (well, it's more of a leg or 'stand') look stupid, not that they're not necessary 😂 It's on a 'V' pedestal type thing. Looks not so nice. But the finish on the rails is super nice.

I think I just picked up saying it as that's what they say here. There's a few phrases (not just pool) that I have learned since being here, only to realize eventually it is from the viewpoint of English a second/translated language 😂
High and low point just made sense to me right off the bat when hearing it, but then I haven't been in this game as a lot of people posting here. Most Chinese friends refer to it as such.

New cloth, so it's not impossible. But we both spent about 10 minutes rolling balls from various points to see what it would take before we started playing. It's a ridiculously tough table.
