***Fancy South West For Sale***

Fraklin SW 379-96

Terry, Duker or Duke as i knew him, was original owner. sorry TNcountryboy, you're wrong, Nat Greene may of had a simular one. i bought several SW cues from Duke, usually at Starchers, 2 annual events. he came into US OPEN & showed me cue 1st, knew it was special, because it was 1st fancy SW ever offered to me. Duke was a dear friend of the Franklin's & was told cue could be shipped, Duke said don't i'll come & p/u, he arrived in Vegas & house & shop was closed. which were built in like 2 rooms of house. he had their cell [ how many had that ] few, im sure, Duke called Laurie & she told him of Jerry's death, so Duke stayed for funeral & later returned back to Pennsylvania w/ new SW. li could be a number off but, believe 376 - 96 was last one shipped, later Joe Blackburn confirmed this & said Duke, himself & another he couldn't remember picked up # 378 #379 [ Dukes ] & # 380. any others w/ higher numbers are SW, not Franklins. Terry, you know how much i would like to have this cue back, but here i'm helping you to sell it. i wish i had cues, you wanted + cash, i would over trade, but you're looking less trade, more cash, i respect that. i'm helping you clear things up to maybe get the money you deserve. why. you treated me right, just trying to return it. your friend. don aka Sure Man Cues

Wow. Wish I could understand that. For clarity sake, was 376 that last, or 380???? Very confusing the way that was written...

I knew this from talking to the South West afficiandos before I even
owned this cue. Cue #380-96 was the last cue, I have #379-96.
I appreciate your information Don. This truly is a special cue. I would
love to see you own it again if that's what you'd like, but I would prefer
a cash deal. I would just have to sell any cue that I took in trade for it.
I have something in the works that is, literally priceless...

I just sent you an email Don, explaining in a little more detail what my
thoughts are on this situation...

Thanks Don...I thought that looked like my cue. I had just left it in the closet all of those years and never played with it. I was good friends with Laurie and Jerry and he did things for me and I feel blessed that he would do that. Not long before he passed, he made me 15 shafts ready for final finish. I still try to stay in touch with Laurie when I can, I know she went through some very tough times some years ago. I used to take many players to their shop and helped them sell many cues. I think Chuck still has some Franklin SW cues Don. If you want any more, let me know and I will get in touch with Chuck.

Great looking SW, wish I had some extra scratch sitting around to take it off your hands. GLWS:cool:

For as much interest that I have received
on this cue, I'm inclined to agree with you.
I'm surprised someone hasn't pulled the trigger...

Might be due to the economy.. It is very nice!!

Fancy sw r so rare to come by! Definitely!!

Especially the second last cue of Franklin!

Fancy South West

Half Fast Banker, if you bank as slow as you pull the trigger on something you know you want. DAMN, just buy it, its to my knowledge the LAST FANCY SW, b4 Jerry's death. How great is that!!! i know this as fact. Duke, Joe Blackburn PU 2 of the 3, Duke told me, Joe confirmed his was a 6 point. whether his was # 378 or # 380, don't know. the fact is, if i had the CASH, not just cues to trade, it would now be mine once again. BUY IT, B4 I go off like a rocket. if Terry could, i know he would keep it he wood. Sometimes things mean more than any cue!!! its ONE of THE MONSTERS of Cues, that seldom come along. just amazed a FULL FAST BANKER hasn't grabbed it already. Terry, hope you can somehow reach your quest w/o selling this LEGENDARY CUE. because you deserve both. best to you, don " the SureManater " sherman

Don,
Thanks for all your information regarding this cue.
It's nice to be able to put the names of the original
people who owned the last several cues that came
out of the South West shop before Jerry's passing.
It lends to the authenticity of this cue for sure. As
I'm sure you know, I'd love to keep this beauty, but
there is something worth even more to me than this
cue and that's what I'm attempting to go after, so
unfortunately this cue must find a new home. Even
though this cue will find a new home, it will not be
at a drastically reduced price. If it really comes down
to it, I can keep the cue, and I will before I let it go
at a discounted price. It's worth what it's worth, and
anyone who is familiar with these types of cues already
knows this. That's where the price will remain. Thanks
again for all your help with the information pertaining to
this beautiful cue. I greatly appreciate it...

Fancy South West

Terry, not positive, but i'm 90% sure, that i concurred w/ Laurie, & she said # 379-96 w/ last fancy SW completed, that is ivory inlays, scrim & the famous cactus w/ SouthWest Cues in ivory in oval in butt, never have heard whether Joe Blackburns was # 378, or # 380, do know Joe doesn't have his anymore. next time i see Joe, i'll ask which he had. i would say # 380 would be worth a lot also, being the last standard 6 point. but yours is a gem, don't have a way to pursue it, best i could do is 2 big cues & little cash. i have a " SHOWSTOPPER " coming soon, & must work my butt off working towards that. my object is to help you in selling it. you've told me your pursuit. the most important of all. hope you get funds somehow & don't have to sell the SW, that way you can show it to me once more. i pray that you don't sell to a vulture, waiting for you to weaken, stay strong my friend, miracles do happen, hope you win your pursuit & can keep SW. regards, don

Hey Don, thank you for all your kind words. I appreciate it very much.
As for the vultures...all I can say is the vultures will have vultures circling
over their heads as they lay dying from starvation waiting for me to weaken.
We both know what this cue is worth, regardless of what the economy is like.
That's what this cue will be sold for. I don't have to sell the cue to accomplish
my goal, but it would make my wife a little happier if I sold this cue or the Searing
that I also have. The Searing is going nowhere. So if this cue sells, great. If not,
I guess I consider myself a lucky man for being married to a very understanding woman...
