Well...The first-ever Fargo Billiards road show pool school was a resounding success! All 9 students improved at a rapid pace. The difference between Saturday morning and Monday evening was remarkable (the age of the students ranged from 10 to 60)! Mike Page and his staff went above and beyond, in taking care of us, and Mike was a great addition as an instructor (I was amazed that Mike was able to sit in at all, let alone help teach, and offer a couple of very enlightening sidebar workshops on pool table physics. He is running a huge, new business, and of course, has his pulse on every activity). I will be making a very special announcement, concerning Mike's room, in the near future! It may well herald a new spirit (and hope) for American pool! I would love to share all the photos we took, but I need help posting them to here. I know I could do a search, follow the directions, and probably get it done in 2-3 hours...but some of you know how to do this in 5 minutes. I've asked someone to volunteer to help me, and let me send them the pics...but so far, no volunteers!:sorry:
If you love pool...you MUST find a way to get to Fargo, ND. This room is simply spectacular, in every way. Honestly, I've traveled the entire country, many times, over many years, and I've never seen a more well-thought-out poolroom concept anywhere! Plush, classy, elegant, asthetically pleasing, clean, roomy, nonsmoking...all of these things cannot begin to describe the pleasure of being here. Add in GREAT equipment (Gabriel and Diamond tables, 9' & 7'...58 of them); a cue repair shop; a very nice "pro" shop (as yet unfinished, but soon); 3 Private rooms available (all with pool tables); an excellent raised seating and bar area (fully stocked bar, with 2-3 dozen beers on tap); a restaurant with superior food, reasonable prices, and massive quantities; one of the best music selections and incredible sound systems I've ever heard; super-clean restrooms; an espresso bar with overstuffed chairs and sofas; 3 dozen flat screen tv's (all of which can stream live video) + wifi throughout the building); and an unbelievable "pool art" collection of paintings, and you begin to get the picture! The frosting on the cake, is a private teaching studio, with everything necessary for a first-class learning experience! If it sounds like we liked this place...you ain't just whistlin' dixie! I can't wait to come back here! Thanks Mike, Adele, Rory, Ben Tanya, Kevin, and way too many more to list!
