His room looks so cool in the pictures. I hope somebody does take some photos to share with the forum.

Here's a link to the pool room: Fargo Billiards

never found out if its a totally non smoking place or not. it looks like they have an ashtray in their picture.

too bad if it is smoky. i wont be there ever.

maha...It is TOTALLY nonsmoking! However, Mike has provided a place outside, for smokers to enjoy their habit!

I have to tell you...you walk into this poolroom for the first time, and your eyes widen, your jaw drops, and you just BREATHE IN the place. It is one awesome poolroom. You can't even begin to imagine what the whole place is like, even when you walk in the door. You must walk completely through everywhere, to get any kind of real understanding of what kind of planning and thought process went into making this happen. Randyg and I have seen a LOT of poolrooms...nothing anywhere quite like Fargo Billiards. If you ever travel down I-94, through ND, and you don't stop at Fargo Billiards...you're simply NOT a poolplayer!

We're off to pool school, day one!

thanks scott

its about time more places realize that almost no one smokes nowadays and those that dont refuse to go into smoky places. at least i do.

Pool School Day One: 9 students & 4 Instructors, doesn't get any better. Private room and private table for each student.

Day started with a breakfast bar. Lunch was off the outstanding menu. 10 hours later the students were at the Bar, they deserved a drink. We worked very hard all day.

Greatest Pool Room I have ever been in!!!!!!!!!!!!

While you're there, tell Mike to hurry up and start franchising his pool hall across the country. I've never seen anything like that place, but I sure would like to!

Well, as Randyg said, day one of pool school is over, and we're looking forward to day two. I've never been so proud of a young man, as I was today, of AzBr hackerda's son Coby! Just 10 years old, and he took in ALL the information today, just like the rest of the students, and didn't blink an eye! We were in class for almost 10 hrs.! That's sometimes difficult for adults, let alone young kids! Coby is already a good player (Dean showed us some extremely thin loooooong cut shots, that Coby had just cut in, in a recent tournament...pretty amazing, for anybody!

I have to give props, once again, to Mike Page. Fargo Billiards is nothing short of amazing, and the pictures posted by Mike Fieldhammer are great, but don't come close to doing it justice. I have some photos, but am having trouble posting them. If someone would like to help, give me your email, and I'll gladly send them to you, for you to post here! The food, drink, music, atmosphere, and service are all outstanding. Mike has a real winner here, and I can find no possible explaination, if he doesn't win the "Best New Poolroom" catagory, in the next Billiards Digest Awards.

On a tight schedule!

I will be driving by Monday on my way home from Shooting Star Classic. Maybe get a look and a pic outside your place. Pics of the inside look real nice!

Day Two complete:

Strokes are much straighter. Process is installed. Students are on the same page as the Instructors. Breakfast Bar was ready when we arrived....free.

Long day, students are still staying around watching Scott teach a Tangent Line Drill.

Tomorrow is the last day of school. We introduce S.A.M. We finalize our pre-shot routines(3). End with our Mother Drills and graduate our new students.

Buy the way. I just found out we have two National Champions taking the Class.....hummmmmm.

Thanks

Another great day at Fargo Billiards! I have about 30 really great pictures of all parts of the room, if someone will help post them up here. PM me your email, and I'll forward them to you, so that everyone here can see how beautiful this place really is! Tomorrow is the last day of school here, and I have to say I'll be sorry to leave. On top of many hours of pool school, I've actually gotten to play about 6 hours. The tables play sooooo well... Gabriels and Diamonds, both top notch! I am really looking forward to coming back soon! Once again, this poolroom is a definite MUST-STOP destination for any poolplayers!

Well...The first-ever Fargo Billiards road show pool school was a resounding success! All 9 students improved at a rapid pace. The difference between Saturday morning and Monday evening was remarkable (the age of the students ranged from 10 to 60)! Mike Page and his staff went above and beyond, in taking care of us, and Mike was a great addition as an instructor (I was amazed that Mike was able to sit in at all, let alone help teach, and offer a couple of very enlightening sidebar workshops on pool table physics. He is running a huge, new business, and of course, has his pulse on every activity). I will be making a very special announcement, concerning Mike's room, in the near future! It may well herald a new spirit (and hope) for American pool! I would love to share all the photos we took, but I need help posting them to here. I know I could do a search, follow the directions, and probably get it done in 2-3 hours...but some of you know how to do this in 5 minutes. I've asked someone to volunteer to help me, and let me send them the pics...but so far, no volunteers!:sorry:

If you love pool...you MUST find a way to get to Fargo, ND. This room is simply spectacular, in every way. Honestly, I've traveled the entire country, many times, over many years, and I've never seen a more well-thought-out poolroom concept anywhere! Plush, classy, elegant, asthetically pleasing, clean, roomy, nonsmoking...all of these things cannot begin to describe the pleasure of being here. Add in GREAT equipment (Gabriel and Diamond tables, 9' & 7'...58 of them); a cue repair shop; a very nice "pro" shop (as yet unfinished, but soon); 3 Private rooms available (all with pool tables); an excellent raised seating and bar area (fully stocked bar, with 2-3 dozen beers on tap); a restaurant with superior food, reasonable prices, and massive quantities; one of the best music selections and incredible sound systems I've ever heard; super-clean restrooms; an espresso bar with overstuffed chairs and sofas; 3 dozen flat screen tv's (all of which can stream live video) + wifi throughout the building); and an unbelievable "pool art" collection of paintings, and you begin to get the picture! The frosting on the cake, is a private teaching studio, with everything necessary for a first-class learning experience! If it sounds like we liked this place...you ain't just whistlin' dixie! I can't wait to come back here! Thanks Mike, Adele, Rory, Ben Tanya, Kevin, and way too many more to list!

Sounds like a fantastic place - I sure hope it's a success. It's tough times out there for our sport.
