You titled this thread "Fargo Ratings," but it seems like a claim about the best or most efficient way to develop at pool.

Does this relate to Fargo Ratings in some way I don't see?

1. If you grow up on a par 5 golf course your full swing potential/and knowledge base is different.
a. If you grew up hitting balls on a par 3 golf course ''short range''. Your swing is limited, never fully developed.
b. Feel the same 9' or 7'
2. To me in many matches I've played in the last 5 yrs, it's very apparent because of their board play and shot choices.

Almost all of my practice is on a 9' table and 100% of my competition happens on 7' tables, I don't think that practicing on my 9' table made me a better player than those who only play on 7' tables. The only difference between the 2 are when you get close to full table length shots on the 9' tables and that just doesn't happen very often, if it does you should probably be working on your position play.

Yes, I get your claim here. It just has nothing to do with Fargo Ratings, right?

It’s not well layed out, but I think the claim is players of equal Fargo ratings that play on different size tables are not truly equal. A claim I’m sure you’ve disputed with evidence.

Personally, as someone who has gotten nearly 100% of their rating playing on 9’ tables, I do feel a slight edge when I play primarily bar table players on a big table, but on a 7’ I feel the opposite. And when I say edge I mean maybe 55-45

96.9% unrelated to the question asked.

I'm in no way attacking Fargo, just I've played so many above my fargo and their shot selections and choices tell me right away their skill level.
Any top player can watch another top player and know thru shots/Shot Selection who's got the best of it.

Agreed, simple truth.

Mark Twain popularized the phrase "There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics," commenting on how statistics can be used to mislead or to support almost any viewpoint, thereby being more "pliable" than facts.

There are guys who fold under the pressure....even very strong players. Some can't bet a dollar
That sort of thing isn't captured by Fargo.

Not to mention misleading ratings for guys that never play big events.
