Fast Carom Cloth?

Good morning, All,

I have a 10’ heated Verhoeven billiard table.

I currently have Simonis 300 Rapide cloth on my table bed & Simonis PreciseShot on the cushions. I like the Rapide, because it plays well & continues to look good over time. I will be replacing it at some point… maybe with a faster cloth.

I’ve been reluctant about getting a faster, synthetic cloth, because Rayon tends to look beat up over time, i.e., lots of white “ball burn” marks, from normal play… not from lots of Massé.

As for the PreciseShot cloth, it is great stuff for the rails: still holds consistent ball spin on “the 3rd rail”.

Can anyone tell me if there is a faster bed cloth than the Rapide… that continues to look good over time?

Can anyone comment on the “Million Carom Cloth” … regarding how it looks over time?

Thank you,
Lynn

I've heard good about the million cloth from the ca folk but never tried it.

I liked the royal pro but only played on it when it was new. I was told playing characteristics don't change much over time

Gorina...👍

I've not yet tried the 330 simonis and I'm hoping my room goes with that next (and soon too).

So far i played only some synthetic cloths and Simonis 300 and Simonis is superior in my opinion.
I Installed our Simonis 300 and used claws that had rubber clued to them. That way one can get cloth tight and tighter cloth is faster.

You can see one version of those claws used on this documentary around 18 min Mark.

My suggestion is just go 300 or 330 and get good table mechanic who uses claws when strecth cloth.

Our local room did gorina first and then simonis after.

We have been trying to get him to get new now and it looks like he's going to do simonis again, and not soon.

Yes, I’ve only used Simonis 300… and it IS expensive!
Yes. I just want to point out how I see cloth prices. If you have cloth 2 years and it cost 100$ more than other and is a lot better.
You enjoy more whole 2 years and it cost 70 cents per day. Not to mention my experience our Simonis was playing good a lot longer than Royal Pro. Goin cheap on tables always cost more because less fun out from table.

since it's your home table , i would suggest you to stay with simonis 300 rapide . more costly, it's a premium coth, but less burns marks and probably the best durability.
as poolmanis wrote , the most impostant : choose a good table mechanic. When the install sucks, the result/playability sucks...

An important easy test is to push your fingers away from you pressing down on the cloth. The cloth should not wrinkle up, or it is loose.
