As a life long rail bird here is my first colum on betting the way I see it, I have been on a good run the past 2 months, I only bet on 3 matches and lost one my smallest bet $100(I didnt really know much about the match I just gave someone some actin). To me its all business not just to have $$ in action, I got over that years ago. If i dont like it dont bet it because like the one loser I booked was reckless thats why it was $100.


I have read every thread and I cant come up with any reasonable line for SVB/Earl, its just to choppy-anything can happen, I do think it will be a close game or a blow out???? what they hell does that mean? it means I cant figure it out, So i'm staying away from this one, but I really want to see it I want to see how Shane plays a "big gun" here in America not in the PI in a action match. He has played big guys before but not in this format(the TAR guys with the live feed) and to me this is the future of my betting or on finals in tournments, SVB beat Cory in his house but Cory dosent have the seasoning that Earl has IMO, Cory is super tough but not like Earl can (yet Cory might be someday) and deeply I hope Earl is a gentalman win or lose, I hate to see him or anyone unhappy as he appears so often. So I dont think SVB will have it easy as last time.

Shane dosent have home court advantage this time, which I felt was a huge advantage I wish I could have got more on him in that match, but I did good-I would have bet upto $10,000 on that match which show's how much I liked that match. No Disrespect to Cory he just was in the wrong spot at the wrong time, It would have been closer if they played in a neutral spot.

The Schmit/Harriman I made a bet on the last day, that match was tough but I did pick all 3 days right but only bet the last day, i wouldnt have bet the 1P day and it went hill/hill. I didnt make the call to bet the first day, shouda, woulda, coulda...and didnt like the 2nd day. so I missed one bet the stright pool game.


The prop bets make more sence for SVB/Earl than betting on the match, I like 2 prop bets I like is Earl asks for the first break-if players are allowed to ask for breaks, unless there is mandatory breaks like in snooker. The other bet I like is who will win the first game, Earl will win the first game, I dont like prop bets but those are the only 2 bets I like especally the first bathroom break. But I still wont bet them.

That was a well thought out post, Fatboy.

It always pays to use your head and not your heart or boredom, when placing a bet. I'm aware of a top notch poolplayer that has lost his desire. He's a previous U.S. Open winner and feels that he has reached all the pool goals that he'd set for himself.

I'm not talking about an old warhorse, but a relatively young gun, with MANY years left in him to be be more than competitive. I'm not saying that he can't and won't still beat top players, but it's good to know that he lacks the burning desire to compete at the top level in case a betting situation should arise.

I will NOT post his name here or send it to anyone, because he may change his attitude and I wouldn't want to hurt any sponsorship deals that has or may have in the future. I'm not trying to 'out him'.

Edited to add: Someone messaged me to ask if the player that I was talking about was Earl and the answer is NO.
And, it's NOT Shane either.

I agree this bet has me stumped!... I really like both players and don't WANT to pick one. You got the "Sure bet Shane"<<<I trade marked that! ;), winning everything. Then you have Earl..my favorite TOP 3 player for the last
20 years. The beeeyotch is in three dayz I would believe...

Shane smokes Earl 100 to 45.

Earl gets up and runs out the set.

It was a great match...ending at 98 to 100...

After the 3rd rack and no balls made on the break, Earl packed up and went home!

I dunno....Maybe I'll have a sweat bet with the wife for dinner!

I can attest to the fact that Fatboy will bet with both hands if he likes a bet. He is unafraid to put 10K in action and I suspect if the situation was right, he could and would go much higher. One day Shane may have a REALLY big game, and need a backer like Fatboy. I wouldn't be surprised to see Shane playing one of the filipino champs or even Yang from Taiwan for 50K some day.

Of course, this is the same reason I can't get him to bet more than dinner when he plays me. He knows he has the worst of it....AND ALWAYS WILL!!! He claims to be getting in stroke for me now. Well Fatboy, I will be heading your way in a couple of weeks, and we can check out your "new" stroke then. You can even let Johnny coach you.

Remember I have been tuning up in the PI. Tomorrow I go back to Manila. The only "action" in Angeles is with the girls. Not that that's so bad. I actually got woofed at yesterday in a local pub by some young guy. We played exactly one game of Eight Ball, and I made a good out to win. Game over! Stalling is not in my vocabulary. All his talk of a 1000p game was just that, so much talk.
 
1000p?...thats what?....equivalent to a Budweiser right?:D

1000p is about $23.

For the wife, there are many malls and very good prices on just about everything.

Come get me ,i'm soft action right now the last 3 times i played it was bad, real bad. Somehow after playing good for the last couple months, i just frogot how to play, I havent played this bad in years-even when I wasnt playing i played better than the last 3 times out. So get your....nevermind just come back while the getting is good, cause when I fix what ever is broken your in deep shit. Seriously I have been hitting them like a C- player, I'm not joking

Sir, I dont put all my business out in the street probably only 10% of what/who I know and what happens behind the "show" so to speak and whats comming up or how I do or dont get involved. I hope didnt upset you, I just wanted to make a meaniful post instead of a silly one for once.:)

I only posted in this thread well known public facts and my opinion on them-I didnt knock anyone, sell anyone out or knock action. This match comming up is tough to bet on, my comments about the players are as I see them and no disrespect to anyone, . Since I'm not the new kid on the block and been around this game since 85, I have the credentials to write a thought out topic open to discussion, with the intent of helping people learn things or infulence their decisions, not knock any action, additionally we all need to support TAR. thanks. respect.
