There are a lot of them, but my favorite is "Cornbread Red". It has a rhythmic flow to it, easy to remember and is descriptive of its recipient. It was bestowed upon one Billy Joe Burge in 1957 by a bookie from Pontiac, Michigan who asked Red what was in the paper he was holding. Answer was, of course, "cornbread"; the bookie started calling him cornbread, the story spread, and since he was already called Red, he now became "Cornbread Red". Great nickname for a great player and gambler. Who's your pick?

"Weenie Beenie".

I think the nickname of "Weenie Beenie" is the best I've ever heard of. He had a bunch of street vendors w/carts selling his dogs w/chilli. And they were very good.
Weenie Beenie just passed away in the last few days and will be missed by all that knew him.

Shannon "The Cannon" Daulton

Vivian "Texas Tornado" Villareal
Grady "The Professor" Matthews
Luther "Wimpy" Lassiter
Glen "Piggy Banks" Rogers
Billy "Cornbread Red" Burge
Jack "Jersey Red" Breit
Ewa "The Striking viking" Laurance

I know it's corny (oops, pun not intended) but Ewa's nickname, the "Striking Viking" is pretty cool because it's a double entendre.

I didnt know that. I had the pleasure of watching him play some one pocket at various tourneyments.

His mood was always the same, win or lose.

Yeah, and if she played with a Viking cue, it would be a triple entendre!
