Favorite tips so far.

I see many are in love with Ultraskins. But where do you get them without having to order 10 at a time?
If you don't need to order 10 at a time, I'd suggest Cue Components. They have all 3 colors (ivory, black, fire) but most folks seem to like the ivory:
Nice price, too, $6

I have been trying various tips lately, and so far my favorite tip is the Ultrskin Ivory for a playing tip.
Bulletproof Recoil is currently my second favorite.
I cannot claim a favorite yet and have not tried a G2, but I'm having a very positive experience with a Recoil medium on one of their 12.4mm CF shafts. I've played for hours with it so far, even broke a few times, and have not had to scuff or shape it. I'm also enjoying a Taom Fusion on a JFlowers cue and a Caiden Fighter soft on a Rhino CF shaft. All three are on different cues, so no direct comparisons, but everything the Recoil seems to be bringing to the game makes it a frontrunner for me, so far.

ps - I'm also really loving the Bulletproof break tip on an old Adam cue of mine!

Kamui Athlete medium has been my favorite for about 2 years on my playing cue. Just had a C4 tip installed on my breaker and am liking it very much.

I'm not sure how they would compare the Tiger Everest to the G2 . I purchased a new to me pool cue that had a G2 tip on it , after I got used to it I totally enjoy playing with that cue and tip combination as I was getting better English and control .

Granted this sounds a bit far fetched but true just how much I enjoy playing with my Mike Gulyassy cue !
Bought an Action Elite - the cheap ash one with an Everest medium. The stick became Cue 1 and the tip along with it. Stiffened up considerably; playing like a WB now. Never flared.

I must be using the worst tip ever since no one has mentioned Predator Victory Soft.
I'll have one on a Revo in about a week. It had a Victory medium on it and will have a soft when it gets back from Predator. I have no complaints with the medium, just liked the Hybrid Max and Fusion better on a Revo so far.

Besides the color, what's the difference between an Ultraskin Black and an Ultraskin Ivory? Which Ultraskin Ivory: soft, medium, or hard?

Never realized how many tips are on the market.
Hard pressed Triangles for me.
Never worry about layers separating with them.
The tip and the shaft are the most important components for me.
I just don't understand how you can switch out tips often and expect any consistency as a player.
Same with shafts for that matter.

I prefer leather, medium or hard.
I don't see how players can like soft tips, they hit like a marshmallow is glued to my cue. Nothing worse than hitting the cue ball and not feeling or hearing it. Especially after what we have learned from Dr. Dave about tip hardness. Is it possible some cues are so stiff that they feel like hitting with glass when using a medium or hard tip? Schon has always seemed to be one of the stiffest hitting cues and they still play nice with medium or hard tips.

Yeah, I don't like my Everest new, I like it best a layer or 2 from the red warning layer, by that time its fully compressed and plays great. I wonder if one could make a layered milk dud tip?

I don't see why the treatment wouldn't work on any leather tip.
I've used EMasters and EMasters slathered with super glue. Makes them shapeable and they play reasonable hard. The Everest was fine as installed. Never touched it except regular dimpling with a Porper.
