Feedback on Elforyn

I'll know soon

I thought I'd share the fact that while I was waiting on 1 shaft with an elforyn ferrule, I actually got 2!!!! I only used them both for about 1 hour last night, but I have to go to a tourney in OIL CITY PA this weekend, so they'll be given a REAL test run this weekend and I'll report MY findings to you guys AND to Bob DZ. I know I'm no cuemaker, but I am however a player who likes to try new things any chance I get. Now keep in mind that I'm using this ferrule, with a water buffalo WB tip on both, so I'm not sure how other tips compare to this combo...But I'll give you the BEST description I possibly can on them. The main thing I can tell you now, is that while the "grain" in these ferrules kinda make it look like ivory, it in no way "throws" or "squirts" the cueball like ivory does...Which is just perfect for the way I play! I'll let you know more later, Jeff
I'd like to take this time to say THANKS one more time to Bob DZ for his generosity to me in this newest venture, and for seeing that I have ample playing time with them for a proper description before and during the tourney. So...THANKS Bob!!!

Elforyn ferrules "hit" very much like mp ivory sub...as in softer plastic type hit. If you like a softer, more quiet hit...then you'll like the Elforyn. Its a great combo with softer style tips like the Sniper...I would never pair it with a harder tip like a WB...there will be no benefit. Its in no way a replacement for melamine. A much better altenative to melamine is Ivorine 4...which is in no way like the 3 version or any of the past. Its very tough, very hard, and polishes clean....with a very hard melamine type "hit".

Your description 'very much like ivory sub...as in softer plastic'.
is not how I would charicterize an ivory ferrule.

So, would that mean the hit is not much at all like real Ivory,
or am I mis-interpreting?

Are the ferrules clean or do they look like the blotches that are in the joint of the cue displayed earlier, I did one cue last year with it as a joint and it was clean. This year with material purchased at the expo, the joint was blotched so I won't use it anymore because of it.

No it does not "hit" like ivory. It hits like soft plastic. It LOOKS similar to ivory but does not hit like ivory ferrules. Many players who like a softer hit, would like the Elforyn.

Thanks for the clarification - just wanted to double check.
that is pretty much what I would have guessed based on just looking

Hi Michael,

ok I've seen the pictures now. Here some picture out of our shop

Elforyn_neu_blacklight.jpg

This is Elforyn under blacklight. The material is now beeing machine made in a regular and certified (DIN = Germany industrial Norm) process . The first 200 feet have been handmade. It is very complicated to get the grain structure into the Elforyn. I took us some time to conquer that. So far, you are the first from the cuemakers that bought the stuff at the VF show that is not happy with it. We are using the stuff for over 1 year now and we love it. As you can see here:

and here
Elfory-Ferrule_gemustert_007.jpg

for us the Elforyn works perfectly. I beleive the material is, besides the exact equal technical specification (Hardnes / shore value / desity etc are equal to real ivory) the closest thing to real ivory up to now.

Nevertheless, If you don't like what you have sent it back to me or Victor and I will replace the material accordingly to you wishes. This is part of our customer service.

best regards,
Markus
