Honestly, it depends on what you want from your table, what you are used to, and what you are looking to practice on for the reasons you want to practice!
If you are talking about the best for your home table and don't plan on playing in local tournaments that may only use bar box tables with napped cloth, get the 860. The learning curve from what you are used to could possibly be quite a difference, but trust me, you gotta go 860 or 3030(if you are a non conformist, heh).
Only reason I would ask to have Mali or any other napped (or shaved napped) cloth installed would be because it was on my bar box and I wanted to have similar conditions as when I went out to play on the bar box.
My friend has the room and the money to have a Valley bar box and a GC3 in his huge man cave (along with slot machines, pinball machines, full wet bar, flat screen TV viewing area with sectional, etc. ... yeah, I'm jealous), but I gotta figure most people don't have that luxury. If you plan on playing on your home table with friends mostly, set it up with 860 so it is "right" (yeah, sounds snobby, but I'm being honest). If you have a bar box in your room because you want to practice using the same set of conditions as your league home room ... well, use the same nappy felt and spill a few beers across it, throw up on it a few times, and then when it's *just* like the cloth on the bar box, practice away!
