Female Cuemakers

AnnieO Shaft

has anybody played with annie o's performance shaft? they make some huge claims!

I own one of AnnieO's AO-E 35-layer flat laminated shafts. I like this shaft alot.

I have shot with both a AO-E flat laminated shaft and her newer AO ProPlus shaft on the table in her shop. One right after the other. The AO ProPlus was one of the first she had finished.

I was impressed enough to have three (3) of her newer ProPlus shafts currently on order. Trouble is they were also ordered with a new cue, which is taking some time to get built. (I will post some pics when the cue is finished and you will understand why.)

Most sources for shaft do not promote someone else's shaft that they do not sell (go figure). The way I look at the shaft game is if you like a shaft and have the money - then buy it. Not everyone is going to ever agree as to which is best. Folks are going to continually invent something new to hopefully find something better and progress what equipment is out there.:)

Does anyone have contact details for David and Meg. I tried using the link in Dieckman's site, but it didn't work. I have been thinking about another cue, and would love to support a local Aussie.

> I don't know how many there are running machines, but in the McDermott factory tour video on their site, there are at least 2 women shown in there, one of them was an older woman that had been doing their inlays for 5 years or so. I've never heard of another female cuemaker other than Annie.

I'm with you Chris,I've never even heard of a female machinist. I asked my instructor about it and he said he'd welcome one,but would probably die of shock if one showed up.

I'm making sure to learn all the manual stuff before tackling CNC,but I've read all the material I have available to me in book form on CNC. Tommy D.
