Whats the best ferrule for a jump/break cue? Just looking for different opinions.

Truth be known....Ivorine 4 is the strongest ferrule material ever offered. It'll flatten hacksaw teeth in about 10 secs when trying to cut small ferrule rod. It takes carbide to cut it. You can use it in any fashion you like too as it needs not be capped.

What about a Carbon Fiber Ferrule? I have access to some thru work.

Carbon Fiber has excellent resistance to tewaring but I don't know what type of compression strength it has. I guess it depends on the binder for the cloth. Good old fashoned LBM or IV4 is tried and true and pretty tough stuff. Depends on what you are looking for the green G-10 rod is tough too different but tough.
Best is a relative term.
