Ferrule length change vs. "Feel" vs. Deflection.

Hey guys, I was wondering...

In terms of "Hit", suppose I get 2 shafts made, 1 with a 1" ivory ferrule, and the other with a 1/2" ivory ferrule. Will the "Hit" of the cue have the same "Feel"... moreover could I be blindfolded and not tell a difference?

Now, in terms of squirt/deflection... would reducing the size of an ivory ferrule by half, thus reducing the front-end mass by approximately 50%, show any marked result? Would it make a noticeable difference or would it be trivial?

Thanks in advance for your responses, I appreciate it.

Yes, it would change the feel. It depend on the person himself noticing the differences. I know peoples who don't feel soft/hard tip, or a wooden joint with wooden jointthread.

If the end mass is down, it will reduce the deflection. Can't tell the differences if you don't try it.

IF it's capped, I doubt if it changes the feel.
Shorter one will make the deflection police happier.

i feel like the hit gets slightly harder with the shorter length, but as far as ivory is concerned it will have better playing characteristics.
