i broke a cue with a wood pin, my playing cue is straight grain maple full spliced into straight grain maple, not much to look at, but plays great.
i'm at home playing one pocket and have my left hand on the shaft like i am going to bridge, my right hand is on the butt. i trip and fall against the table, the cue hits the rail right at the joint area and with my 200 lbs falling forward the wood pin snaps.
no damage to the butt or shaft, 45 minutes later i have a new pin in the cue, after it drys overnight its as good as new.

gotta love those wood pin cues

i believe

at that time i might have had some liquids inside me that cushioned the stumble, and i did not go all the way down. thanks for asking

Hahahahaha. Chuck will appreciate the help.

But, like he said, if it were a metal pin, the shaft would be toast. This way, another wood pin and yer good to go.
