I used to live in Phoenix in the late 90's. I thought it was the best city for pool in the U.S. Have fun exploring all of the places to play.

As far as Electric Bills, I just get on the APS plan and mine is $200/month all year round. That includes my swimming pool. Sure beats 8 months of winter like it was when I lived in Wisconsin.

Goddammn! im in south texas where its almost 100 for 2 months straight and i complain when i pay more than 250. And i work from home so the AC is always on. No turning it down while everones gone cause someones always home. Yall must pay more per killowatt hour. It was like that when i lived in San diego. 400 a month
Steve no one has told you, but the first thing you need to Play in AZ is a Rating Card.
Go SEE JAZZ at Metro Sport Bar, (602-997-5717) I-17 & Peoria in PHX, he is in after 2:00 PM M-S, and can fix you up.
Better to call the day before and see if he can rate you.
BTW Metro Sports Bar has Tourny's 7 NIGHT A WEEK, and IMHO THE BEST BAR FOOD in the Valley.

I've always wondered what the pool scene would be like in Phoenix, its such large city there has to be tons of little tourneys and games throughout the city.
A friend of mine once told me the action was best in the summer time when it was smokin' hot since everyone wanted to hang out in the AC, don't know if thats true or not, pool players talk a lot of smack you know.
